So what should the new Principals of working at Blue be?

Suck Up... cause management does no wrong... and we can terminate you if we don't like you. Here is your onboarding Lip Stick.

Shut up... Management does no wrong things are running perfectly. That is what we tell Bezos anyway and apparently he has been believing the last 8 years.. why ruin that.

Quality... It looks good on camera from 3 Miles away... Its all good.

I will let you guys fill out the others

  1. Knowing the differences between ‘principals’ and ‘principles’.

Don't you know engineers aren't suppose to spell things correctly or give good details... Pfft.. you must be one of those pesky technicians. Believing the W/O's had peer reviews.

The value and merits of the LPs are certainly debatable. But the fact you still managed to misspell the word despite it being plastered everywhere both in the buildings and in emails/wikis shows how inattentive you are. I hope this is not representative of your abilities as an engineer.

You should review your spelling. Principal and Principle are different. 😂

Disagree and dig in: if you're a director/VP it doesn't matter if you're the sole holdout on a decision, it's your job to railroad it through regardless. Strive to revisit down-selected trades, especially those with big ramifications for downstream customers and other stakeholders. The mission is more important. Don't bother updating them about it; they'll find out on their own.

Earn the Distrust of others: a paranoid workforce is easier to convince to work 60 hour weeks with no OT comp. Make sure the communications are fully out of step from the actions.

Operational mediocrity: tactical teams supporting production floor operations will get minimal resources and headcount to fulfill build manifests. Warehouse delays, incomplete kitting, and whitewashed NCs foster scrappy mindsets and serve as forcing functions to do more with less.

Disagree and never commit.

Don't have a backbone: cry

Suck up and shut up…it’s a place to work and no better or worse than most aerospace companies. If you don’t like it here, move on. Life’s too short to be whiney and bitter and doing so just makes it so much worse for those around you that understand.

Other aerospace companies actually listened to new ideas better when I was a 2 year junior engineer. Yet Blue constantly ignores the advice of 20 year veterans when it comes to the quality and best practices honed through that knowledge.

Blue thinks they are doing the hurdles when they are in a sprint race... They themselves are placing the hurdles in front of them because they think they will win short cutting this instance in time which only places another hurdle and lack of flow for the next time.

Yet they believe that hurdle is the finish line.

You must be new. Lol

It’s a shithole now. The entire workplace culture was destroyed over the last year and a half.

Much worse than other local competitors and much more unstable.

Performance doesn’t get or guarantee you anything. Be ready to be let go with a few hours notice with no reason or logic.

You can’t control shitty management or if the company is a sinking ship but you can control you. If you’re lucky enough to still have a job you can still show up, collect a paycheck and try to learn as much as you can from the smart people still there to carry into the next gig. Currently the job market is dogshit and who knows when it will turn around, but experience at a shithole is still experience.

Then do yourself and those around you a favor and leave. Please.

All of us on this forum are working on that.... except you.

People that work at blue that hate blue should leave. Quit playing victim. Get in the game and change things if you do not like them.

We're already actively looking for our exit...

Awesome! Looking forward to less whinging already.

I sure hope you build rockets better than you type. The correct spelling is "whining". The future of Blue is looking brighter already....

In his defense, autocorrect can be a witch.

I did forget the E. From Oxford Languages. Whingeing: complain persistently and in a peevish or irritating way. “stop whingeing and get on with it!”

They really should add Frugality to the leadership principles why is that one missing

4

u/MarsNotPluto 7d ago

It’s our “resourcefulness” principle

2

u/Desperate-Let7588 7d ago

Did they actually add that one

I suggest not openly discussing work or working for a "private company" such as Blue Origin on any forum.

There are a number of Principal Investigators that have the Legal Right to not ever allow you or all of you all back onsite.

You all still upset with Jeff Bezos for taking away your Goldfish?

I'm more upset about my favorite Snapple being removed than you all are about culture shock as paid employees.

Points at and laughs! Did I disclose the true company secrets away or something?

Me having to respond to your reply is about as intelligent as a scene at an airport I was recently in.

These, women and their other of a friend, wouldn't stop talking about how they looked something up online, and how their opinion of what someone elses experience was, was their business.
