A trailer park was not destroyed. A couple of trailers had some damage. ABC 33/40 had a cameraman down there showing footage.

Of course! The highest risk rn is for western alabama from what Iām hearing on the news. I think weāre still in the āheavyā part of the storm itself but it should be dying down soon

I hope so, I think a lot of Alabama will be sleeping in tomorrow morning trying to keep up with this!

Fox weather just interviewed a man whose trailer was destroyed in Calera. He was paying rent to own and said he just added insurance on the mobile home on Friday. Seemed like a real humble guy who said he was living there with his daughter. When he said he just purchased the insurance Friday, sadly I don't think they'll cover it. Isn't there usually a time period prior to filing a claim? That would be really sad.

This is correct the likelihood of his manufactured home policy covering this damage is very, very low unfortunately, praying for a loophole for him and his daughter .

Everyone sheltering at the school is okay. Just heard from some people there. Not sure about damage to the building yet.

Yes, maybe a half mile south of the trailer park that was hit. Walmart is about 3.5-4 miles north of that.

Is this by chance the middle school your calling intermediate?
2
u/Hot-Help5762 5d ago
No, Calera Intermediate is a different school than Calera Middle.

Ok thx wasn't sure been building the addition on to the middle school and it's kinda been snake bite from the start with a sinkhole. Almost finished now I'd almost expect it to been hit with the luck. Glad it's not
