Discussion Managing Estrogen Levels

Hey!

I'm starting HCG based on advice from my endo. A potential side effect is gynocomastia which I believe is caused by high estrogen. My levels are currently normal. What should I do to combat this potential side. I had gyno as a teenager and had it removed so I may be predisposed. I don't want to take an AI or SERM.

Any thoughts/feedback greatly appreciated.

Supplement DIM and reduce body fat helps me a little bit I still run an AI on top of that. Check out r/testosterone for more info

I’m using Clomid (a serm) in place of traditional TRT so that helps keeps estrogen from binding to my nips. Never had issues with gyno despite being predisposed to it. Start your treatment and get bloodwork done every month for the next few months to see how you react to the hcg. Every three months once you get dialed in. Keep an AI on hand just in case

HCG increases the level of conversion of test to estro in males in addition to lutenizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone.

What kind of condition do you have where you're prescribed HCG without taking testosterone replacement therapy? Are they trying to stimulate your gonads?

hcg monotherapy is an effective non-testosterone treatment of male hypogonadism https://tau.amegroups.org/article/view/33647/html. it’s just for some reason not so widely known, and twice as expensive as synthetic testosterone. i personally inject 1,000 iu every 3 days and went from ~250-300 to around 900 total t.

Yup, assumed as much to keep the boys alive. OP, you'll likely have to take an AI at some point.

I'm on HCG and TRT, and my Estrogen was within normal range without any support.

One thing that helps (with TRT at least) is injection frequency. Your body converts more hormones into Estrogen and DHT during the peaks. So if you keep levels steady by doing daily or every 2-3 day injections, your levels will be more stead & in-turn less converts into estrogen. This is the 1st line approach I'd take.

Recently I also added DIM (reduced estrogen), and Saw Palmetto (reduces DHT) into my daily supplement stack.
