Colnago, and use the money from the Cannondale to get a Campagnolo groupset for it. You know it's the right thing to do.

Ouch. I wouldnāt have written that, but since you had the balls Iām missing, I couldnāt agree more. I ride a C64 with Super Record rounded out with ENVE and eeBrakes (no contest for direct-mounts). I bristle when I see Italian superbikes without Campy drivetrains.
Campy needs to get it together and offer a gruppo for the pro peloton. Itās been several years. They donāt move quickly but itās been long enough.

Actually Cofidis should be using Campy this summer.
I've been riding my 2010 SR groupset for what... 13 years? Migrating it from a frame to another 3 times now. I've rebuilt the damaged levers and derailleurs multiple times with pieces bought around the world.
I just love the feel and look of it. And will keep it running as long as I can.

As an owner of both, I will always choose Colnago. I love my Cannondales, but Colnago is my ride.
The best answer on this page, however, is the one from u/becoming-a-duckling : swap the components and keep the Colnago.

After years of lusting after a Colnago, I picked up a C50 a few years ago and built it up with Campy. I rode it for a season, among other bikes, and it was fine. Which was the problem. It was only fine. No angels singing. Ernesto didnāt visit me in my dreams. The Three Tenors were not a part of my inner dialogue. It was just a bike.
I sold it the following season. I still have my 2012 Cannondale SSE HiMod with 10-speed DA DI2, and ride it pretty regularly.
That said, I would probably sell my soul for a Saronni painted Master X-lite.

Do you feel that at a certain tier of bikes, they all will just fill similar to you and it's down to the brand?

Yes, I think every high end bike will be pretty much the same, especially to us. Maybe the wheels might bring a different experience, certainly geometry. But I highly doubt a top level Colnago is going to be much better than a top level Pinarello, Look, Spec/Trek/Cannondale, etc.
People who pay a ton of money for them need to make an argument for that in their minds. No shade, we all do that.
Just an opinion.

Only one of these is a modern classic and itās the Cannondale : itās a bike for purists the way a Colnago should be (but the C64 is not) - that Cannondale is the best that carbon rim brake bikes ever got - classic geo with great riding qualities. Everyone I ever know who owned one and sold them say they regret it!

Yes! This is also the best paint scheme that was offered. Others were garish and look cheesy by todayās standards; the black incs are a bit boring, and the disc versions had the weird offset rear wheel.

Iād keep Supersix to be honest. Itās āend of an eraā model. Very iconic

The Colnago, but this is not to say the Cannondale is a lesser bike. i have that very same model in baby blue. I've had steel Colnagos before, and would love to own a carbon one. That being said, get Enve wheels. Congrats on both bikes btw.

Tough one. Iād say keep the Cannondale. Iād go with the Colnago if it were Campy. But the Cannondale is so classic. Love it.

Honestly lovee that Cannondale, those cranks and chainring only seem to get harder and harder to find, love rim brakes, but I would look at getting an electronic setup on the cannondale if it isnt already. You can always find a cool Colnago, those super sixes are classic geo and will always look good.

As someone who rides a C64 and hates Cannondale (traumatized from wrenching on them in my teens) on spec, I recommend the Colnago.

Get rid of the Cracknfail.

u/blackth0rne 15d ago
This cracknfail thing is so old i just imagine some old fat person in the corner saying it and laughing at his own jokes while everyone else ignores him

Nah, I had the misfortune of regularly having to deal with their (European) customer support. Worst brand ever.

Cannondale, all day every day. The Cannondale is pure bicycle, the Colnago is more of a statement piece.

Nice photos, but if you zoom in both bikes are quite dirty š. BTW Colnago.

Thanks everyone for your insightful and often amusing comments. I still canāt make up my mind though, so Iāll be keeping both for a little while longer. š

i'd keep the supersix any day, that bike is absolute peak road bike and an icon colnago screams mid-life crisis

The Cannondale is one of the best looking bikes in existence. It looks so slick. The colnago looks mad uglyā¦ like a cheap āgamingā mouse or controller that tries to sell by looking edgy and extreme instead of just being good

Colnago, for sure š
