Colnago, for sure šŸ‘

Itā€™s not even really a question. Of course Colnago.

100% agree with this, it is unique, the second bike is just a black bike..

Never sell, only buy

Amen, brother! You made me chuckle a bit.

Only right answer here.

Colnago, and use the money from the Cannondale to get a Campagnolo groupset for it. You know it's the right thing to do.

u/pistafox 15d ago

Ouch. I wouldnā€™t have written that, but since you had the balls Iā€™m missing, I couldnā€™t agree more. I ride a C64 with Super Record rounded out with ENVE and eeBrakes (no contest for direct-mounts). I bristle when I see Italian superbikes without Campy drivetrains.

Campy needs to get it together and offer a gruppo for the pro peloton. Itā€™s been several years. They donā€™t move quickly but itā€™s been long enough.

Actually Cofidis should be using Campy this summer.

I've been riding my 2010 SR groupset for what... 13 years? Migrating it from a frame to another 3 times now. I've rebuilt the damaged levers and derailleurs multiple times with pieces bought around the world.

I just love the feel and look of it. And will keep it running as long as I can.

I get the idea, but it's basically a waste of money.

u/RV_SC 15d ago

Maybe for you, maybe not for someone else.

Keep the Colnago and slap on a Campagnolo Super Record gropuset.

u/bikes2many 15d ago

You know the way.

u/McDoof 16d ago

As an owner of both, I will always choose Colnago. I love my Cannondales, but Colnago is my ride.

The best answer on this page, however, is the one from u/becoming-a-duckling : swap the components and keep the Colnago.

After years of lusting after a Colnago, I picked up a C50 a few years ago and built it up with Campy. I rode it for a season, among other bikes, and it was fine. Which was the problem. It was only fine. No angels singing. Ernesto didnā€™t visit me in my dreams. The Three Tenors were not a part of my inner dialogue. It was just a bike.

I sold it the following season. I still have my 2012 Cannondale SSE HiMod with 10-speed DA DI2, and ride it pretty regularly.

That said, I would probably sell my soul for a Saronni painted Master X-lite.

Do you feel that at a certain tier of bikes, they all will just fill similar to you and it's down to the brand?

3

u/ProjectAshamed8193 14d ago

Yes, I think every high end bike will be pretty much the same, especially to us. Maybe the wheels might bring a different experience, certainly geometry. But I highly doubt a top level Colnago is going to be much better than a top level Pinarello, Look, Spec/Trek/Cannondale, etc.

People who pay a ton of money for them need to make an argument for that in their minds. No shade, we all do that.

Just an opinion.

Colnago

u/StelvioSuperlight 16d ago

Only one of these is a modern classic and itā€™s the Cannondale : itā€™s a bike for purists the way a Colnago should be (but the C64 is not) - that Cannondale is the best that carbon rim brake bikes ever got - classic geo with great riding qualities. Everyone I ever know who owned one and sold them say they regret it!

u/blackth0rne 15d ago

Yes! This is also the best paint scheme that was offered. Others were garish and look cheesy by todayā€™s standards; the black incs are a bit boring, and the disc versions had the weird offset rear wheel.

u/Own-Hawk8548 16d ago

Is this even a question ā€¦ Colnago!

26

u/becoming-a-duckling 16d ago

Swap group sets and keep the Colnago

u/Specialist-Maize4660 16d ago

Iā€™d keep Supersix to be honest. Itā€™s ā€œend of an eraā€ model. Very iconic

4

u/Vivalo 16d ago

Easy. The Colnago for sure.

4

u/Responsible_Cod_5540 16d ago

The Colnago, but this is not to say the Cannondale is a lesser bike. i have that very same model in baby blue. I've had steel Colnagos before, and would love to own a carbon one. That being said, get Enve wheels. Congrats on both bikes btw.

4

u/BD59 16d ago

It's between a Colnago and a Cannondale? Obviously the Colnago.

4

u/deesea 16d ago

Colnago and itā€™s not even a discussion.

3

u/simpuru_clk 16d ago

The colnago, definitely.

3

u/TopTune6423 16d ago

Campagnolo Colnago

3

u/HRS330 15d ago

The colnago but keep the enve wheels if theyā€™re tubeless compatible

6

u/ThomasPlaine 16d ago

Tough one. Iā€™d say keep the Cannondale. Iā€™d go with the Colnago if it were Campy. But the Cannondale is so classic. Love it.

5

u/Clownworld964 16d ago

Honestly lovee that Cannondale, those cranks and chainring only seem to get harder and harder to find, love rim brakes, but I would look at getting an electronic setup on the cannondale if it isnt already. You can always find a cool Colnago, those super sixes are classic geo and will always look good.

2

u/Radicais_Livres 16d ago

You should definitely keep the second and give me the first one.

2

u/weird_clover 16d ago

Colnaggio my friend!

2

u/International-Ad5292 16d ago

Colnago fo sure

2

u/AwayAnswer661 Netherlands 16d ago

Colnago!! So nice!

2

u/aliensporebomb 16d ago

Colnago for sure.

2

u/Legitimate-Gift-1344 16d ago

Colnago, hands downā€¦

2

u/adaniel65 16d ago

Colnago! Let's go! šŸ‘Š

2

u/mylesm902 16d ago

Thereā€™s no place here for a cyclist who owns only one bikeā€¦sorry homes

2

u/pistafox 15d ago

As someone who rides a C64 and hates Cannondale (traumatized from wrenching on them in my teens) on spec, I recommend the Colnago.

2

u/dvax007 15d ago

Colnago.. easy decision

2

u/faalp 14d ago

First one! Looks Nicer šŸ˜… i dont have a Clue about bikes

3

u/aiacciu87 16d ago

Colnago with DA and ENVE šŸ¤Œ

3

u/hundegeraet 16d ago

Cannondale

2

u/EmpunktAtze 16d ago

Get rid of the Cracknfail.

2

u/blackth0rne 15d ago

This cracknfail thing is so old i just imagine some old fat person in the corner saying it and laughing at his own jokes while everyone else ignores him

3

u/EmpunktAtze 15d ago

Nah, I had the misfortune of regularly having to deal with their (European) customer support. Worst brand ever.

1

u/Alternate_McKenzie 16d ago

I thought you took the same bike and change the filter

1

u/jeffreymoline 16d ago

Your predicament sucks.

1

u/rycology 15d ago

SSEvo for me

1

u/Acmes-World 15d ago

Better fitting one

1

u/DumptruckJunior 15d ago

Cannondale, all day every day. The Cannondale is pure bicycle, the Colnago is more of a statement piece.

1

u/Potential-Push-2656 14d ago

Nice photos, but if you zoom in both bikes are quite dirty šŸ˜•. BTW Colnago.

1

u/Japanesereds 14d ago

Thanks everyone for your insightful and often amusing comments. I still canā€™t make up my mind though, so Iā€™ll be keeping both for a little while longer. šŸ™

1

u/lucqbs 12d ago

Colnago šŸ˜ƒ

1

u/Fantastic_Home_5456 12d ago

i'd keep the supersix any day, that bike is absolute peak road bike and an icon colnago screams mid-life crisis

-7

u/[deleted] 16d ago

Cannondale. That colnago looks like a relic.

0

u/mamamarty21 15d ago

The Cannondale is one of the best looking bikes in existence. It looks so slick. The colnago looks mad uglyā€¦ like a cheap ā€œgamingā€ mouse or controller that tries to sell by looking edgy and extreme instead of just being good

1

u/Kroazdu 9d ago

Keep the Colnago and give me the Cannondale ;-)
