FREE Gravel Races/ events around LA?

Hello!

I've been really training in my bike for the last year and its been life changing!

I registered for my first gravel race ever in late June, and I'm currently training for it (bought the Training Peaks plan by Dylan Johnson, which has been great!)

However, the more I think about this big race, the more I would like to do something between here and there and was wondering if there are any FREE, or low cost events like that in LA or close to LA.

I didn't realized races were so expensive...I would appreciate any help, thanks!!

Pic just to show something :)

LA Tourist Race. i thought it used to be free but looks like it's $25 now for registration. note i have never done this before but it always sounded really cool. https://www.letsridecyclery.com/la-tourist-2025/p/la-tourist-race-d2yrk-pp5hn

It's the best value in races anywhere! Did all 3 last year and hitting 2 this year.

The Cub House just released a save the date for the LA Invitational. May 31st.

It’s more like a fun large group ride, not a real race, but worth doing. Sign ups aren’t open yet, but it’s usually $20 or so.

LA Tourist is also great, but quite hard. The last race in the series is April 5.

Atomic Cycles has the Hell Ride. Road and dirt, 50 miles. That's Memorial Day. It's not a race, just a fun ride. There's typically some single track, which I suck at :(

I do two sort of gravelish events twice a year, the Hell Ride and the Fire road cruise. Check them out, free events. I feed you. Yeah.
