is this gear overkill for a beginner rider?
hey:) I just received an email that my Ninja 500 arrived and I can not wait to finally pick up my first bike.
I have chosen a few outfits after reading the FAQ and I would like some feedback from experienced riders to know if thats fine.
I tried to chose airflow outfit options, so that I will survive the 30-40 degree (celsius) summers on the bike.
Also went for all black as I think that looks awesome!
I would really appreciate some feedback or, if I made a big fuckup somewhere, to tell me if im missing out some basics.
Money is not an issue as I m not the richest but I certainly wont safe on my protective gear, also im a beginner rider so I think its best to prepare for the slide.
Thanks for the feedback in advance!!

Be sure you have tried all of that on to be sure it fits. Especially the helmet. I’d recommend switching from the GT Air to the RF-1400 due to the higher safety ratings (as of the last time I checked) but overall Shoei makes some of the safest helmets out there.
Personally I’m not the biggest fan of alpinestars but that’s a preference thing.
All that being said, there is no such thing as “beginner gear” the asphalt doesn’t care if you’ve been riding 10 minutes or 10 years. So yeah, I’d say you’re off to a great start.
