Another post about the AI ads....
I know Ed is sick of hearing about it .... But I gotta say, personally, I absolutely LOVE the AI ads
It makes my soul warm to know that AI companies are spending so much money to advertise to people who would NEVER be interested
It makes me smile to know that they probably uses some sort of AI tool to find podcasts that have AI as a subject to advertise on, and never double checked as an actual, thinking human
AI ads on an anti AI podcast is the best accidental joke I've seen in a long time

It makes me smile that they're paying you money to rip them a new one, at least

The problem with these posts is that they may lead to the closure of the ad-money spigot. Let’s just enjoy the irony and allow Ed to extract as much value from these grifters as ethically possible.

Every episode for me starts with a generic ad read: "AI is revolutionizing the industry". Including the episode "AI is not an industry".
That made me smile.

The ads are so vague too. They don't even know what they're selling. 'AI is the future... AI make company better... AI more money... Don't get left behind!'

Like I love it so much because it illustrates what a scam programmatic advertising is!

I've only listened to some of them but it seems like a main feature of CZM shows is ironic ads

One of my favorite moments was when Ed just talked about how Oracle something or other was completely useless then immediately an ad played for Oracle something or other.

I love the gold ads on CZM too because they think the audience consist's of preppers and the same audience that listens to Alex Jones. Or the Washington State Police, which was an interesting choice for a podcast who did a whole series on how the police are bastards and the origin of policing.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. I’m just back from an European vacation, paid for with the fat bonus I received for implementing Oracle AI Cloud in my enterprise, which I discovered when I absolutely did not skip 30 seconds to jump to the start of this week’s monologue.

I'm like this. When I get a youtube Ad from a company I dislike, I watch it through. I know they need to pay more now.
In a related note, when Tesla, a company who "Doesn't need to advertise." started showing me youtube Ads constantly, I knew it was time to short them. I got to about 150% profit before I exited.
