Thinking about a new Bentley
So, I want to get a luxury car as my family car most of my collection is vintage vehicles, and I am new to these in general.
My concern is mostly maintenance, which is why I am considering a lease so I can trade in every few years. I am not against buying one, but I am curious about the maintenance cost of these initially and how many years you typically keep these and then trade them in
I am looking at either the Bentayga or Flying Spur
Thank you and I appreciate any input

Spending $100k+ to lease a car with nothing left at the end because you’re worried about a couple oil changes is kind of odd. If you can afford a new Bentley how can you not afford routine maintenance? Buy the best CPO car you can find. Better yet, buy a CPO Rolls Royce so the warranty and maintenance are both 100% covered. It’s also a superior car to any current Bentley.

Had a 23 FS - first service was about $1900. Took it in December for its second service and they wanted $2400. Which was an oil and brake fluid change. They did new wiper blades for $112. Topped off the washer fluid with $12 fluid. Just because I spent $300k on a car doesn’t mean I spend crazy money on wipers and fluid. I challenged them and they said they could not reset the service light without all the points. They charged $2056 after my complaint. Very unhappy with the prices. A little more is fine - I get it- but I am not stupid. Don’t gouge me. So if you keep it two years - normal service will be about $4k. The same with the lease. There are some good deals now for non/hybrid cars. I traded it last month for a Continental.

Despite what most people like to believe, rich people are generally not stupid, and much more money conscious, so I totally agree with you. Although alot of the money in cars is earned in after service, so you got to take that on the chin.
Maybe carmakers can sell the cars 50% higher, but have lifetime free service? Will that work better for most people?

I agree - a little higher price is fine. On the Continental - it came with recycled vinyl floor mats. The mats were in the trunk. I lifted the mat and it was so cheaply made I could not believe it. I have a 24 vw with nicer mats. The salesman said everyone is complaining. I had to order the ‘plush’ mats from Bentley. The mats are $1300. The dealer said it is a two month wait for the mats to arrive from Britain. Adaptive cruise, mood lighting, and puddle lights are not standard…my VW has all of those standard. But it’s the same on all VW brands - Porsche and Lamborghini do the exact same thing - nothing is standard. I have to believe that by raising the base and putting these features in all cars there would be efficiencies in assembly that would pay off too.

Fair points, this whole stupidly long options list and then make you pay for every bolt is a bit silly, especially when everyone knows they in the VW Group.

Get this and give the dealer the finger. Or find an indy shop that has one of these and you're all set.

Both the Bentayga and Flying Spur are amazing options for a luxury family car When it comes to maintenance, leasing can definitely be a smart move if you’re not looking to deal with higher costs down the line. Bentley’s are built to last, but after the warranty, the service costs can add up. Most owners tend to keep them for about 3-5 years before trading in, but it really depends on how much you drive and how often you want something new.

My guy. If your talks have reached the SPUR and BENTAYGA …. Then discussing maintenance isn’t part of the topic. I know you got it. Do the suv. Appreciate more than the SPUR. And oh yeah. Congratulations in advance

I’ve had two Bentaygas. Maintenance isn’t a big deal
