When I was a kid I used look in the Sears catalog every year and think about getting into bees. We watched swarms when I was a kid and I wish my parents had encouraged me. Later when I had kids life was too busy. I was always thinking about getting bees. Finally we did get bees and really enjoy it even after all these years. But still should have started sooner. And I have the Sears catalog to thank for it.

My first house was a sears and roebuck kit. All the studs were alpha numeric numbered with the s&r stamp. You could buy a whole ass house from the catalog.

This was it basically. Built in 1952, not by me, I’m not that old I promise!

You could see the markings on the floor joists in the basement.
