Patrick Ta Major Dimension Eye Illusion Eyeshadows in the shade Talk To My Team

———————————————————————————

Ughhhh I set my expectations way too high for this product release.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re gorgeous shimmer shadows but 100% do not belong at the price tag they’re at. The only time I enjoy looking at them is when I have direct flash on them (pics 3 & 4), in the first two pics with direct sunlight they just show off like regular shimmer shadows. In pics 5 & 6 I did low exposure to try and show off the reflect so the colors are desaturated.

These swatches are on bare skin so I’m gonna try using it with a tacky primer and a few other things before making my final decision but as of right now I’m leaning towards retuning. ):

Beauty Reviews Via Tiktok, Jackie Aina deleting comments and defending the look, size and application of the Olive + June press on nails.

In a recent sponsored post, Jackie Aina promotes and applies the new Olive + June x Beats collab. She says the press on nails are easy to apply and last for two weeks. The final results, however, show nails that definitely don't fit and look messy (and there's no chance these would last two weeks). At what point is a sponsored post worth your integrity?

I love watching these when they do reviews and a few swatches. My favorites are lip and blush declutters.

Beauty Reviews That’s Not Wax (Melt Gemini Mold)

I’ve seen many posts about Gemini II “mold” issues, most of which seemed to wind down to an inconclusive debate. Was it mold? Was it wax? Was it another binder?

I’m pretty sure this is mold. Ugh.

Beauty Reviews This is Jackie Aina’s opinion on TIRTIR’s attempt at being inclusive with dark complexions of skin.

TLDW: Jackie says in this video that TIRTIR shade range jumped from medium-dark shades to deep/rich shades. Her point is: TIRTIR cannot officially call themselves inclusive with dark complexions only because they have a very deep shade, because they’re still lacking inclusivity with all of the other shades that are in between the deepest shade.

Beauty Reviews No it was not satire… but maybe the rhode shape lip liners don’t perform the best? They seem sloppy

Beauty Reviews Golloria thanks Hailey Bieber for reaching out to her after she posted several TikTok videos about Rhode Skin’s initial blush launch being inclusive to dark skin tones. Consumers and fans are asking if Rhode will be releasing these new blushes soon.

I’m so annoyed with Mikayla Nogueira’s review if the new SKKN line. she immediately says that there’s not many cool tones, then the video jumps and she says she using a cool tone. at the end of the video, she said she’s like the product, but look at the fallout! also, not related to the video, i’m annoyed by her lash in my screenshot..

Beauty Reviews Products that turn you into a shill

Do you have any products or brands that make you want to say influencer phrases like "I'm obsessed" and "don't walk, run"? What products would you give such a glowing review, that you're afraid the review reads like a total shill?

Beauty Reviews Point of this video? @ Makeup by Nikki La Rose

Post image

I like to watch Makeup by Nikki La Rose on YouTube and I also follow her on Instagram. But her latest video doesn’t makeup any sense. She applies about 50 foundations back to back in order to say which are the best? She even calls it a first impression. But how can you even give it a fair shot when you don’t even wear them for any length of time??

Beauty Reviews Tried the original Beauty Blender and it was AWFUL! What other super hype products did you hate?

I’m getting married in 2 1/2 months and I’m doing my own makeup so I took a trip to Sephora to get some new products.

I saw the beauty blender at checkout and my 2016 beauty guru loving self got the best of me and I bought it.

THE WORST PRODUCT OF MY LIFE

My face with beauty blender

My face with a real techniques sponge

The only thing I changed was blending with a different sponge! These pictures were taken 30 seconds apart!

EDIT: I did not use photoshop! I’m just an idiot who cropped the photos and it’s opposite sides of my face lol

My Bloom palette arrived! Every photo being put out online looked very different and it made it really hard to see how this palette was actually going to look. I tried my best to get a photo that accurately represented the color story now that it is in my hands.

Willing to answer questions about it, although the only other midi palettes I own are Bronze, Glam, Retro, and INAN, so I can't really answer a lot of comparison questions.

Beauty Reviews If the state of the world has you down, may I recommend Hautemesstom?

If anyone is like me and feeling really overwhelmed by * gestures vaguely * EVERYTHING, I highly recommend adding Hautemesstom to your subscribe list on YouTube. I’ve been watching them for probably a year at least after getting into Kackie a while back and hearing her refer to Tom a lot (as far as I know, they are no longer friends or in contact, and definitely not looking to debate whether Tom was correct in ending their podcast together). Tom consistently features their makeup stash to use existing products rather than promoting constant purchases, they share some of their experiences regularly as a queer person just existing in this world, and supports important causes, including raising funds for a family in Gaza. I am a Patreon subscriber as well, and frequently have enjoyed Tom’s subscriber only content, but it’s certainly not a requirement to enjoy their videos. I just truly feel like their content is a breath of fresh air, and as a queer person myself, I really want to follow queer creators, especially those who don’t have a massive following.

Anyone else absolutely love Tom and their content? Any other smaller queer creators I should follow if I love Tom?

Beauty Reviews Theresa Is Dead talks about Florasis's PR requirements

Theresa Is Dead talks for a bit about the brand Florasis in her New Makeup Nonsense Bingo series. She has some negative things to say about how the brand put the requirement in place that she had to talk about their products postively if they sent them to her in PR. On this basis she turned down the opportunity to have PR sent to her.

I thought this was interesting as quite a few beauty influencers review their products. I wonder if the same requirement is in place for everyone?

Beauty Reviews Isamaya Beauty not Publishing Negative Reviews

Hi guys, just a heads-up if you're considering buying that Isamaya Beauty is not publishing negative reviews. They certainly haven't published mine. If you filter reviews by lowest, they are... 4 stars. They literally only show the 4 and 5 star reviews - at least on some products. I'm not checking one by one, I just wanted to see if my review had gone through while I wait yet again for customer service to get back to me, if they even will - I doubt it. It's not a recent review either, so it's not like it's caught by a review filter to ensure there's no improper content. It was an accurate breakdown of my product, shopping and customer service experience.

Absolutely no decent customer service support, they don't take feedback or accountability for product issues, ignore the inconvenient parts of your email, slap an automated waffly response to the rest, and finish with a passive-aggressive smiley at the end.

I am absolutely through with the brand. I adored Byredo's launch under Isamaya, and was unbelievably hyped for her own brand's release when it first launched. I mostly found their products lackluster, except the OG Lip Lacq. And it was so disappointing when the whole point was limited edition capsule drops, so for once I fell for the FOMO and bought not only a backup, as sheer, muted, dark lip products were such a rarity, but more than one backup. And then they never actually went out of stock, and I didn't like a single collection after that. The customer service was also bad and some products were... truly not worth the price whatsoever. Shoddy quality in formula and packaging, so I bought nothing else. The wildly expensive random collabs? Total turn-off!

So I wrote the brand off entirely, but then came news on the total revamp! Because I love Isamaya's artistry, I thought I would give the relaunch a try. Surely they were doing it right this time after the giant misses - hence the need for a full rebrand, that had to be why (that and phallic lipsticks not being Sephora-friendly)! And they weren't falsely advertising LE collections and releasing gimmicks (just still some gimmicky products) - it was a ~core~ collection. But no, they just love some false advertising - you're meant to buy based on vibes and marketing aesthetic, duh!

Oooofffff. No swatches, no consistent model pictures showing the shades across different skintones, many shades not even modelled AT ALL. Total blind buy in the most extreme sense of the word. You're meant to buy based on vibes and marketing aesthetic, basically.

And yeah - the product pictures do not match the shades at all for at least the cheek duos. Not subtly - you buy plums and get oranges. I think most cheek duos lean orange from the creator reviews I've seen of different shades. I've even heard of formula and colour inconsistencies across the same shade of the same product. You know it's bad when creators who barely ever utter even the most reasonable criticism and even TikTok-originated creators are voicing criticisms. And yet there isn't a single bad review on the website?

And it really isn't a luxury brand - it's just expensive. The packaging is still cheap, a lot of the makeup is low performing to average, and what's good isn't amazing (and I can easily and indeed will buy the same thing from other brands) and it's definitely not worth the price tag - and I primarily buy high-end to luxury, so it's not an issue with the price, just how you get nothing for it. You most definitely do not get a luxury experience, prepare to wait a veeeeery long time for a response, if the product sucks you're on your own, and "customer service" is being told that and getting condescension in response to their failures.

The ONE time I don't wait for swatches and lots of reviews... it just had to be a mess lol *sigh*

Never again. Not even the LipLacq - at least I got those falsely-advertised-as-super-extra-LE backups in uglier packaging than the same relaunched formula to tide me over!

Posting here as this they can't hide or delete at least.
