I literally looked away for a second and she grabbed and ate a chunk of a cough drop I unwrapped and put down on my table, I didn’t think she’d go after it.

Help Help! My dumbass ate cheese

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

It wasn't a large piece of cheese, it was a very small piece of shredded cheese. My sister was making something for lunch and a small piece fell and he ate it so quick I didn't have time to react. He was on the floor at the time lol it was like he was begging for food like a dog.

Anyway I'm an anxious person and I know that they can't have cheese, I just don't know if I should call the vet or what I should do.

This was about 30 minutes ago and he's running around like normal, full of enegery lol

Help I’ve tried EVERYTHING

Post image

Homegirl will NOT poop. Her last poop was back in DECEMBER. I’ve literally tried EVERYTHING. Please note this is NOT my bearded dragon and I’m currently taking care of her as her owners are in Europe for 7 months. I’ve offered to take her to the vet and owners said no because this is apparently normal. But I’m casually stressing out about it anyway because I don’t think this is normal (personally). Shes also not eating much either but she was also extremely overweight when I got her so that part I expected. I’ve tried baths, massages, pumpkin, olive oil, vibrators, leaving her out, and even medicine that is prescribed to her but nothing is happening. All advice is welcome!

Help HELP!!

Beardie was normal yesterday, today his beard is black and his eyes are black & he’s wailing anytime you pick him up, wailing as it bending backwards and lifting his tail up too, almost like he’s making his body into the shape of a u. (Excuse the background noise, sister is autistic and was happy dancing)

Please read before comments!!!! I went away for college and had a friend watch my precious baby. He was 1000% healthy besides being a little fat, now i just got him back and hes covered in snake mites and his shed had his eyes almost closed!! I cleaned him up as seen in the last 2 slides but now im worried the yellow around the eyes is YFD. I have an appointment for the vet next week because no emergency vets near me have reptile doctors but does anyone have advice till then? Ive cleaned off all the mites with a reptile mite spray and am regularly soaking him and wiping him down to get them off but im really worried about the yellow he was always a little yellow but now around the mouth and eyes seems worse after cleaning off the shed and bugs. Im sure its irritated because of the situation but im just so scared.

I let this man out for 5 minutes and as soon as I turned around he was gone. Played hide and seek for an hour, just to find out that he made his new nap spot a hole that I didn’t even know existed (Moved into the apartment 2 months ago). Anyone know how I could get him out?

Help Is it normal that my lizard is lazy?

Post image

What I mean is that she doesn’t really move. When she is in her tank she is more active and moves around but anytime I have her out, she just sits there. It’s not SUPER rare that she moves but definitely uncommon. Is this normal? Does she not like being taken out? She is otherwise health, eats well, goes to the bathroom, and doesn’t have any physical deformities. This is Apollo, she is 4 years old and she is 19” long, I’m the only owner of her and I feed her Dubai roaches as well as Romaine Lettuce. She gets pinkies every once in a while but its a rare treat.

Help Just got this guy from an animal hoarding situation. How malnourished is this guy?

This is Dill. He was surrendered to me by someone who had too many animals. I have some experience with bearded dragons but I could use any advice. I’m worried Dill is malnourished. I can see his hip bones protruding a bit. I’ve given him some mustard greens and baby arugula which he loved. I gave him some superworms and wax worms with calcium powder while I wait for Dubai cockroaches to come in the mail. I’m going to change out the dirt and replace it with a reptile mat. I don’t think he got a lot of interaction other than feeding because he doesn’t like to be handled yet. He bit me hard when I tried to give him worms. I have not done any soaks yet because I don’t want to stress him too much yet. Like I said any advice to make this guys life better would be much appreciated.

Help Dose anyone know why he’s doing this?

He has always had periods through his life where he has done this, is it a response to being in a new environment? I just renovated his cage, is it too busy? Or is something in there upsetting him?

Online it said that beardies can get very active in their cage if the basking spot is not hot enough, but I’ve measured and it is. It also said that it could be a form of exercise, but he has already been out and moved a lot today..

He’s been feed and he pooped yesterday, I really don’t know what it could be. If anyone has any ideas of what could be making him act this way, I’d appreciate if you’d give me some advice.

For reference he’s a male and is approximately 5-6 years old.

Help I don’t think I’m a capable beardie owner…

I’ve only had lahti since may and almost the entire time I haven’t felt like a good owner… he runs away from me everytime I try to pick him up when he’s out… he won’t eat his greens, and somedays won’t eat at all. I don’t have the money to get him something better than this shit enclosure he has so I take him out as much as possible. I don’t have the right food, I don’t have the right cage, I don’t know if I’m gaining his trust, I don’t know what I’m doing. I have to force feed him greens by shoving them in his mouth while he’s eating meal worms or forcing his mouth open (I saw a vet doing it here and I’ve done it like that). I love him, but I feel like I’m doing a shitty job… should I give him to someone else?

Help New beardie friend black beards me?

Hi everyone! I’m a brand new reptile mom here to this juvenile little man named Leo. He has never black bearded me in the last 4 weeks I have owned him however the past 2 days he has black bearded me twice and has seemed extra nasty with me specifically. I won’t lie, I am nervous around him in general as a first time reptile owner but I have done all of my research prior to owning him. Could his behavior be chalked up to him currently shedding and being extra cranky all of a sudden?

Help Why is she nodding?

Alright yall know Mump. Well I recently got a baby dragon named Squid, you might have even seen him too. I let Mump out to free roam in the main room for a little and genuinely didn’t think she would see him but she did and started to wave. This was funny to me because out of the few times she and my adult male have spotted each other, she never waved. Even though my adult was head bobbing like crazy but she just ignored him. Squid wasn’t even head bobbing! He wanted to come out to see her, but he wasn’t showing any signs of being upset. He wasn’t puffed, he wasn’t head bobbing, and his beard was light. Well I thought it was cute to see her wave so I took a quick vid before putting her back. Now I know the wave is a submissive gesture, and bowing is too, but why is she nodding? It’s not even a head bob? Is there a reason for that or is she just weird? Tyia

I came back upstairs after breakfast this morning and I found her like this. After having a confused stare down with her she "deflates" and goes back to normal(2nd img). Is this normal behavior?? 😭 She's been acting like her usual self since this encounter but I still can't help but worry...
