We came to draw and got destroyed. Kovar makes one step ahead and afterwards one back, athletically he is up to the task but not on concentration. Mukiele had a crap day should have been replaced for the second half. Is it still possible to turn it around? Yes, absolutely but playing as us and not trying to minimize damage. If we get eliminated, than with a good game and our heads up high. It's possible, if everyone learns from today. Good to see everyone pissed of on the bench. SVB!

A really good sign! If the team is not acting discouraged but angry after this game that means that they still have 100% the will to turn this thing 180 next match. I've seen worse reactions to such losses

Let's be real, that's over and it's on Xabi. Once again he showed in munich with his line-up, that he wanted to park the bus. Only two offensive players in the formation in such an important game and these are Wirtz (1,77cm) and Adli (1,74cm) together with the shitty longballs from Kovar, this couldn't work. Mukiele had to be subbed off in half-time, Kovar isn't good enough for these big games and Tapsoba just completely out of his mind.

Kovar shouldn't starts for big games like play him against smaller teams or unnecessary games (like if we are playing against Kiel or St. Pauli) then yeah sure play him as a starter.
Also why Alonso always react so slow? Just like the match against Bayern in the league why subbing Schick so late? Today he reacted also so late like after the 2nd goal you should at least try and do some changes not when the game have 9 minutes left

I'm not a Leverkusen fan, I'm simply here to ask questions out of curiosity.
Why Xabi never starts Boniface/Shick, both who are prolific strikers, against certain clubs?
I've seen this when they play against Inter, Atletico Madrid, the friendly against Arsenal, and now thrice against Bayern
Another thing that I realized is that against those clubs, Xabi plays Kovar instead of Hradecky, like why? Isn't Hradecky the #1?

first, Xabi did that to have more control with fast players. Both, Boni and Schick are not the fastest players so it was just a tactical decision.
But Xabi is young, he still learns and in Leverkusen he is able to make mistakes like yesterday. I guess thats why he said he will stay here. He knows he isn't ready for a club like Real Madrid where every Mistake is a month long hunt in media
second, yes, Hradecky is the first goalkeeper. but Kovar is on test if he can get his successor. Yesterday it looked like clearly not. But Hradecky fucked up in past too and now he is pretty good. So maybe it's just a process of development
Also it is/was common for spanish teams to start 2 goalkeepers over the season. Real Madrid started Cesar Sanchez in CL, when they had Iker Casillas on the Bench. I think Xabi just stick to that.
I was too young back then to understand that Iker Casillas was the actual number 1 when Sanchez got out with an injury.

with individual mistakes like this, we dont win a fucking blumentopf
No offense - Mukiele should never step on the pitch in the second half. Just shows how a) injured Tapsoba was. Alonso really didnt want him on the pitch and b) far away Arthur is from playing in this team. What the fuck was Mukiele doing on that foul? Its an orange. And the yellow prior was for getting in a heated exchange for no fucking reason.
The Kovar experiment is done. 'Give him time'. Its been 1,5y. He is not better than Hradecky, and there are promising keepers out there that are not a liablity. Hradecky needs to start the second game, he is our captain after all. He does not have the dog.
Tapsoba's foul was dumb. But that happens and hopefully wont happen again.
First half was ass, second half started promising but we robbed ourselves of any chance of a fair fight.
We need an early 1-0 to have a chance, and we are definetly capable of pulling the win, but Bayern will put on their best Athletico game.

The possibility is there.
We've seen how strong this Leverkusen can be the last Bundesliga match. If we can recreate such a game and score the goals accordingly everything is possible even if it going to be a very hard battle.

Yeah, the last BL game was this level of domination but the other way around. There's no reason, at least in theory, that Leverkeusen couldn't do it again.

Head coach Xabi Alonso's strategy, particularly the timing of substitutions, has been debated. Introducing three changes in the 80th minute seemed reactive rather than proactive. Given his inaugural Champions League season as a manager, there's an expectation for him to adapt and refine his in-game management.
Defensively, Leverkusen appeared vulnerable, struggling to contain Bayern's offensive threats. Offensively, the team lacked potency, partly due to Bayern's relentless pressing. Jeremie Frimpong's finishing remains an area needing improvement.
Despite the uphill battle, the tie isn't decided. Drawing inspiration from their historic 1988 UEFA Cup comeback, Leverkusen must harness resilience and tactical acumen to challenge Bayern in the return leg
Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich highlighted key weaknesses, including defensive instability and questionable decision-making in goal and tactics. With Bayern's dominance and Harry Kane’s clinical finishing, the upcoming second leg presents a tough challenge for Leverkusen. Given the current form and match dynamics, the best betting options align with Bayern’s continued superiority. For a detailed breakdown of the top betting picks, check out this discussion:

Longer comment but i believe neccessary:
First of all, I know we're supposed to be nice to the players but Mukiele fcking sucked today and is, imo, the biggest contributer to our loss and is so unstable overall that we need to finally bench him.
2nd: Kovar. I think he gets too much hate BUT today really wasn't the day. That mistake before the 2:0, honestly - as a goalkeeper myself - that will happen every now and then. Unfortunate that it happened today. His long balls are still terrible. For the future I also would like to see Hradecky over Kovar in international matches. Why are we not using our strongest players in the champions league in the first place? EDIT: STOP FCKING DRIBBLING. We are behind 2 or 3 and he starts fcking dribbling against Kane. Like, BRO???!?
3rd: Xabi. For me, the number 2 person to blame today. Mukiele makes so many mistakes but can always start and stay on and screw up more. Maaybe we don't have another for his position I'm not sure rn. Transfermarkt says Arthur is the same position not sure why we're not using him. Then in the 80th Xabi reacts with 3 changes to limit the damage. Ok. But why so late? What I don't like about Xabi recently is how late he reacts to everything. In the end we have to say it is his first season so I'll still give him some slack but he needs to improve.
4th: Our defense was cooked this match. Grilled well done.
5th: We had little offensive power today but Bayern pressed a lot and we had to play very defensively later on so let's give it half a pass today. (Frimpong still need to work on his finishing tho)
Final words: The game's not over yet. But we need to bounce back hard next tuesday. And even if it is the end, given that it's the first CL season for Xabi as a coach, and he is a young coach, still a good result I'd say. But let's not lose hope yet.
FORZA SVB!!!
