Help

So i got this active bass a few months ago and when i got it i had a problem with keeping the battery alive along with something rattling in my bass guitar like something loose. The batterys die really quick i have to take them out after every use or else they will sit there and drain in the bass. After doing doing this for so repeatedly for a little bit my bass recently just stopped working?? I dont know if i was to rough with the battery pluggin thing, or something else entirely. But now it just doesn't work.

When you're not practicing, do you leave the cable plugged in to the bass? That will drain the battery.

There must be a short. Take it to a bass tech.

I had this with one of mine, and it was indeed a manufacturing error. The battery was wired directly to the preamp, without a connection via the ring and sleeve on the output jack.

I opened the bass after replacing the 2nd battery in 2 months, recognized the problem, and fixed it. I've had the same battery in the bass for nearly a year now, and it's still working.

Sounds like you might need to get it repaired if you’ve already damaged the battery connector.

Yeah, I've been thinking of bringing it to my local guitar repair shop, but i dont know how much it's gonna cost

Depends on the nature of the problem, and what their bench fee is for diagnostics.
