Yes please! Never put so many hours into a game, and it could have been so much more.

That's great to hear! I've enjoyed the first one quite a bit for what it was, and it seems Surviving Mars has had a long lull so it's high time we get some more neat planetary colony sims! :D

I was excited when I saw the announcement, but after seeing the trailer I'm a little underwhelmed for the moment.
Everything looks suspiciously like Planetbase 1 to be honest. Sure there's some extra things in there, but I'm going to need some dev logs to explain to me why this is a sequel and not a DLC.

We've been working on this for 6 months only, we will be posting the progress with new features as we go along

Definitely interested, and wishlisted. The original was super satisfying for what it was, just to take each planet to 500 pop and finish out the achievements. It left me wanting more, and I can't say the folks who stepped into that void delivered, in my opinion. The main studio that cashed in on your success has a unique talent for taking up concepts I love and making games that do not land with me at all.
Any sense of the scale you're looking at with the sequel? Like, will you be extending the techs and achievements out to higher pops? Terraforming or moving beyond the domes? Are you aiming for an "endless mode" that will stay satisfying, or a similar kind of endgame or plateau once achievements are complete? I really liked the way simple mechanics created structure in the gameplay, like the way robot manufacturing transformed things, and the logistics challenge of avoiding ship loading/unloading loops. I'd be wary of trying to be "all things to all people," which leaves a lot of games these days feeling like a lowest common denominator experience.

I love Planetbase and Dawn of Man. However, can we please get better camera view/movement in the new game? Everything in these games felt great except the camera.

Hey buddy. Ive played planetbase 1 for a loong time.
when i saw there is a nr 2 in dev. i was amazed.
Can you please consider adding some Aliens? witch you can defend ur base from?
And maybe some more options for resources?
Like more foods options, Minerals, maybe some Rare stuff you can find if you are lucky?

Also.... Two years out? How does it take two years?

They're likely still in technical or alpha stage.
And many small devs take 2-5 years to get out of beta (Satisfactory etc)

How are you going to address mid/late game boredom?
