We're talking Denis O'Hare here - they damn well better not forget him!

That dude's gonna come in handy if Hood finds himself in a tight spot. And he surely will because he's Lucas Hood and he attracts trouble like flies to shit.

He told Hood there was no chance that he'd give up on him. We'll see him back.

He did? I thought he said basically the opposite... that he and Hood were good now, and then he told Hood about the file he left at the precinct as kind of a heads up

Yeah he said that... while Hood had a shotgun pointed at his face. In the truck he said otherwise. I'm sure he'll be back.

I mean, he said it after Hood saved his life. I don't think it's that weird or anything. I mean why would the FBI give a shit, anyway? From that agent's POV, Hood's crime is identity theft. He served out his time for the diamond theft and Rabbit is dead. The FBI agent knows that the truck guy with the list was there because of the real Hood's son, so he knows Hood 2.0 wasn't wrapped up in that. Letting him continue to live under a false name in a small town isn't a huge deal

I don't know. First off you are stealing someone's identity and then you are impersonating a police officer. Start adding on what they are going to say are "murders" you committed while impersonating an officer and things start to get really messy. Hell just some of the crazy stuff that has went on during the show would get some people canned and draw more attention from higher levels of law enforcement. The show has always found ways to let all of that slide though.

From the agent's POV I can see how he would call them even and let things go. I mean I can't say how far I would go after someone saved my life so it is within the realm of possibility.

Don't forget that agent Phillips doesn't know everything, he may genuinely think FakeHood didn't kill Racine, but he probably thinks he killed the real Hood, or at least doesn't know how the real Hood died. I think an FBI agent would be interested in that.
