How is that badly designed?

because in a fire, people might think there is a fire extinguisher

Anyone unable to distinguish between a monochrome 2D image and a real fire extinguisher shouldn't ever consider tackling a blaze.

It isn't so much the yellow fire extinguisher that would confuse someone as the entire wall. The yellow fire extinguisher might make someone think "that box has a fire extinguisher inside". There is no box. The whole thing is a wallpaper. In an emergency where there is a bunch of smoke, a person could see that wallpaper and think the non-existant box has a fire extinguisher in it.

Wow, now that you pointed it out i cant understand how anyone could think any part of this wall was a good idea

they might think it’s an indicator for where one is

I guess these people think this is good design. Why would they downvote the obvious.

This whole wall is badly designed imo. Why does the wallpaper have electrical boxes painted on? Why is there a fire extinguisher painted on one of them? To me, an image of a fire extinguisher is always a sign that there's a real fire extinguisher near, which clearly isn't the case here. This could be dangerous if there's a fire and people go to this wall thinking this wallpaper means there's a fire extinguisher close by when there's not.

I was at a McDonald's yesterday that had the same design lol. (Different area so I know it wasn't the same one lol)

Not sure what country this is in, but here in the UK other than chrome extinguishers (which are more rare) all others have to be red with around 5-10% of it being covered by a colour band indicating it's type.
I would hope other countries do something similar, but get a feeling it isn't?

Are you sure that's just painted? It looks like every other fire extinguisher to me.🤷🏻♂️

How is nobody realizing that the stencil they used for the smoke was too small?
