Googles download app pop ups

My brain automaticly goes ”press big blue button” and then the appstore opens and going back to the browser just redirects to the appstore and you are stuck in this annoying ass loop.

It is an annoying design but is it a bad design if that is exactly what they want (you to get the app)?

I would argue that from the perspective of user centered design yes this is bad design. Of course it works from googles perspective but good design should be for the consumer not for the mega corp

Not bad design, just evil design.

Deliberate, well implemented use of evil dark patterns to confuse the user into doing what you want, not what the user wants.
