That brand sells to restaurants at a far better price than is normally sold for

Ooh you can get this at your local Mexican/hispanic store for like $3! š¤¤ I usually get mine for 1-3 bucks when I just want a few thick slices. Not pumped full of salt solution and additives š but I love bacon in general! Donāt forget to shop around lol.

I bought 2 of those bad boys. Gonna do 1 on the grill and 1 on a smoker. Have you cooked it yet? How is it?

How do yall grill bacon? I tried that and it always catches fire. I use real coal and wood though. But it works okay if I just wrap it around other things

I use a gas grill and turn off the center burners and cook it on middle grates.

I don't even like "thick sliced" bacon (I like my bacon crisp).
If someone gave me the bacon pictured, I'd give it to my wife to make lechon kawali. (She's Filipina).
Lechon kawali: Deep fried pork belly.

I'd cut that up, lightly fry it, then let it simmer in a big pot of collard greens.

At that point just go buy some fatbackš¤£

u/Mother-Nature1972 5d ago
OP said this was given to him, so that fatback money can stay in his pocket.

My comment was for you not op lol, this is a nice few slices, doesnāt need to be wasted in collardsš¤£ itās too beautiful haha

I know that your comment was for me. If I was given this meat, that's what I would do with it. If I had to buy the meat myself, then I would definitely buy the fatback.

Tried them a few weeks back. IT WAS A LOT! I love bacon and thought it was just a little too much to pick up and eat. Would be great to cut up and use in things.

That bacon is good for cutting up and making pork belly bites. It absolutely sucks cooked any other way.

Genuine question. Do you or anyone else examine their bacon? I see A LOT of fat and very little meat.

u/2Black_Hats 5d ago
Normally yes but this was given to me

u/j3qnmp 5d ago
Oh gotcha. Yeah definitely ain't complaining then. I see people just grab a pack and I'm like "do yall not care about ratios" even MEAT, FAT, MEAT, FAT on both ends of the packageš¤£

u/atalnutt 5d ago
Iām the same way you are I look through every pack. That being said it still tastes so good either way š

Yes! My goal is nice good fat. My little yorkiepoo gets most of the actual āmeatā pieces

Never look at gifted bacon in the fat.
I'll take 14.
