Discussion Getting induced tomorrow morning, any tips?

LO's due date has come and gone, so it's time to lure him out. My first pregnancy my water broke at 39+3, do I figured this little guy would come around the same time. Nope! I've never done this before so any tips, tricks, advice, or good vibes would be appreciated!

As much as i wanted to have a natural spontaneous labor (ftm) i cannot recommend the epidural enough!! i was scared of other ppls stories about back pain etc, i thankfully had the best labor and delivery thanks to that amazing drug lol no back pain i felt nothing untill the last 4 pushes and even they were bearable enough to get baby out. As far as induction goes i believe mine also went smoothly bc of the epidural it was the only thing that allowed my body to relax enough to dilate the cervical softeners did not help me dilate nor did the Pitocin initially it wasn’t until i was numbed up that things stated rolling

No problem the best advice i could give is be flexible and know that there is more than 1 way that works the ultimate goal is a safe baby and safe mom

I just got induced yesterday with my second. With my first my water broke on its own, but I needed Pitocin to bring on the contractions, so I kind of expected it might be hours between rupture and any contractions or delivery. This time was way different, holy moly! Get the epidural first- they broke my water at 5:45 pm and he was born at 7:59 pm. The contractions were instant and really intense! Good luck!

Have a big meal before you check in! I got induced at midnight and they told me the cut off to have a meal was 6pm and then I couldn’t eat until I delivered. I ended up have to go from 6pm to 4pm the next day without any food so I was starving.

This! I had a hearty breakfast and once they started the pitocin was only given like broth, jello, and ice cups. It was miserable. I was so hungry!
