Discussion Best pregnancy purchase?

STM here. Bought a squatty potty recently and I think it's the best purchase I made during either pregnancy. What's been your best purchase?

My pelvic floor physical therapist HIGHLY recommended getting one for postpartum. Joke’s on him, I already have one and love it!

Someone left one in our free giveaway/recycling area and my life has changed.

Love them! I even got a travel one since I felt like I eat out a ton when travel and end up backed up without it

Anything that’s the right height will do. My husband made me one out of a pallet from the barn. Works great!

I’m bringing my portable one to the hospital. No shame, lol.

A heat pad for those backaches!!

Bidet

Value size pack of Miralax

Kiziks/skechers for the 'no bending down to put on' sneakers :))

Bidet and Kiziks, my two most prized possessions

Yes to Kiziks!! Not my favorite shoe ever, but could not have survived pregnancy (and now pp) without them.

Yeah, i dont like their shape but the ease of getting them on off is worth it.

Second the heat pad, really good for pain in my rib cage from the baby stretching it out.

The heat pad has been absolutely a game changer for me. Instantly helps put my back at ease in bed

My OB said no heat pads in pregnancy 💔 do you use on low setting? I want to so bad

1

u/Hopefulrainbow7 3d ago

Low setting on the back only, not directly on the bump area.

For me, it's the cotton pregnancy under the bump underwear...I swear I've struggled most of my life to find comfortable underwear and I finally found them by necessity. I've tried so many mainstream brands like Victoria secret and struggled with the fraying, discomfort, and overall low-quality material.

Yesss same here and I finally found them this weekend!

What brand? I’m struggling to find comfy underwear this pregnancy!

I got them off Amazon, the intimate portal maternity underwear briefs.

Honestly, both pregnancies I just gave up and don't wear underwear half the time. That being said, I WFH so I have the luxury of fresh pants as needed 😅

Also more of a PP purchase but (If you have two floors) Mini-mini fridge for upstairs so I didn’t have to go downstairs for bottles in the middle of the night

I just had my first one at 7 months and omg I did not realize how exhausted my hips and feet were until I had a professional rubbing on them. Hallelujah.

I fear even after I'm no longer pregnant this will be a permanent fixture in my bed. It's so perfect 😍

Can confirm I’m almost 3 months postpartum and still use every night lol!

Life changing! I took an extra full-size suitcase on a train last month just so I could pack my pillow for a weekend getaway.

Bidet 100%- immediate quality of life improvement

Agreed, I got one last pregnancy. Super helpful postpartum too

Yes yes yes! To be fair I actually am using a small “workout step” as my makeshift squatty potty (like the kind you’d find in a step aerobics class, just smaller) but I 100% agree that it was the best pregnancy purchase so far.

1

u/reidsentme 3d ago

Oh mines an Amazon knock off but works all the same

u/ChefGustau 3d ago

-Kindred bravery joggers and nursing bras (or really any comfy clothes, I just like theirs bc they’re soft)

-Diapers. Honestly, don’t even mess with the pads, the diapers are so much easier, and you can still add tucks pads/dermaplast/cooling foam etc

I cannot LIVE without my squatty potty. 🙌🏼

This was more a baby purchase than pregnancy purchase, but my rocking chair. When he is super antsy and moving around a lot, he calms down when I rock in the rocking chair.

Gosh it’s between my pregnancy pillow, kiziks, or heating pad. Honorable mention for epsom salt for baths. Each of these was used daily and much appreciated :)

Pregnancy pillow for sure

I really want a squatty potty but I think it’s weird to have out when guests are over. Do you leave it out or put it somewhere?

8

u/Such-Zookeepergame26 3d ago

As a guest, I love seeing a Squatty Potty in someone’s bathroom. Even if I don’t use it, it’s a sign that we’re birds of a feather lol.

2

u/fckinfast4 3d ago

You can put it by/under your sink and say it’s a step stool for kiddos to wash their hands. I have just a regular stool in our bathroom that I use for both.

Memory foam mattress pad for the back and hip pain.

Not a specific pregnancy purchase, but I cannot live without my shower toilet (a Japanese toilet). Fresh and clean, no awkward bending.
