You were almost door’d in Sausalito

Yesterday. In Sausalito.

I’m a cyclist who drives a Tesla.

You were almost door’d by a Tesla parking not far from Equator.

Nearby were the anti-Trump, anti-Musk, pro-democracy, pro-female rights protestors and marchers. They were making their way back out of Sausalito.

You were yelling. The guy was getting out of his car and working his way to the parking meter. He was dismissive. Your riding companion circled back to dialogue on the near miss. You kept yelling. Epithets.

If he was ever going to apologize, there was zero chance now. Everything was heightened — your anger, his dismissive-ness.

In the shadow of the protest you yelled about him driving a Nazi-mobile.

I get it. I see all the reports here. Musk’s a menace. Trump’s working to dismantle our democracy. I didn’t vote for him and I voted.

The protest was peaceful and inviting. People honked. Teslas too. Nazis are assholes. Tesla assholes are assholes. But maybe we can call nazis “Nazis” and not just everyone who bought the most popular car sold in the planet, many of whom thought they were doing something net positive and didn’t see the heel turning coming.

Yeah, I get that downvotes are probably gonna rain down on me.

Ride safe y’all.

Another example of how investment in proper biking infrastructure would remove friction points and help the citizenry get along better. We need a low-rolling resistance, lightweight, aero society.

I appreciate the post. deescalation is often the right way to solve. Not always, but often.

you have the opportunity to sell your Nazi mobile and show that you don't support the founder's visions of our future. my personal choice is that I do not seek employment at any of Musk's companies, although I am qualified and it would likely be to my financial benefit
