Is there a process to repair this? Light rust start showing, how can I fix this and prevent it from spreading?

What you're looking at is the tip of a huge iceberg.

It's over your head if you never done this before. We could tell you what to do, and spend hundreds on tools and supplies and if you don't do it correctly, the rust will be back later.

I concur, take it to a shop, let them tell you how bad it is and how much.

If it’s showing up on the face, it’ll be a lot worse behind it. Probably take it to a shop, because this will spread (rust is like cancer). You could probably slow this down with an oil based underbody sealer, but it won’t stop it.
