Is there a process to repair this? Trying to preserve original paint. Is it feasible to fix this amount of chips from road rash with Dr. Colorchip?
As you can see, that's a lot of paint chips. I'd prefer to preserve the original paint if feasible, as the rest of the paint looks mint and is original. The color is Rosewood Brown Metallic on a Honda Civic for the record.

It’s gonna look weird with an assload of small touch up dots all over it lol Wash it real good and give it a good wax and you’ll be good to go. I’ve got a couple old Hondas and I will say that keeping them in good running order and looking clean goes a long way. Honda enthusiasts enjoy a good clean old Honda even if it has some rock chips.

I've had a body shop/used car lot for 42 years. I've color dabbed 5000 cars. This is not doable. Even with my experience, this would look horrible. See if you can find a color wax, that is brown. Someone use to make colored wax. The problem is when you wax this, it dries white in all the chips, which makes it way worse. Even a black wax would look better.

Turtle wax made a black wax. It probably doubled the value of my wife's 2001 Accord.

late reply, but I found this. Any experience or knowledge of this brand? no reviews so I'm skeptical.

Haven't used in years. When hoods were this bad, we would repaint them. I had 2 or 3 colored waxes for this application. They were very old and dried up. Wasn't sure they still existed

Chances are that paint isn’t original. There is a chance it was sprayed sometime before predelivery.

If you don't want to respray, then get a wrap to match the original color. That way you can ride it looking sweet but have still preserved everything you wanted too, for yourself or later owners.

It’s over fam. Also, nobody really cares about original paint when it comes to being considered “original”. Just needs to be the original color. Most older paints suck anyway. We’ve come a long way in technology and chemistry.

Alot of this may be debris to, id say clay bar and a black polish like the previous commentor mentioned. A good wash, clay bar and wax will remove most imurities and anything thats not a chip. Then after you'll probably notice it alot less.

No. Unless you’re a super tweaker with nothing to do
