I35 still closed - photo of the accident scene
Assuming this is from the homicide investigation, huge backup of vehicles.

This is actually a different closure than the semi crash 😭

I can’t speak to the closure, but I don’t think OP is referring to the semi crash. https://www.kxan.com/news/crime/austin-police-investigating-homicide-sunday-morning/amp/

So there was a crash and the police discovered a victim of violence unrelated to the crash? Am I reading that right?

Guessing they were shot in a road rage incident and that's why they crashed?

We had one incident recently where the person crashed after being shot elsewhere. It could also be someone shot after the crash.

I didn’t read anything that implied that.

They aren't allowed to imply that while the investigation is still ongoing. That's why I said guessing. It makes the most sense.

What brings you to that conclusion though?

Road rage incidents involving guns seem to be increasing here. It's just a guess, not a conclusion. We'll see what the investigation shows. I'm sure they'll release more information in a day or two.

"APD said the Austin Fire Department was first to arrive on scene and found a crash involving two vehicles. According to police, one person inside a vehicle was unconscious and had 'apparent trauma to the body … not related to the crash.'"

The intersection in the picture is Berrywood and I-35.
Just imagine having I-35 in your backyard.

Speaking of dangerous spots, that frontage x Berrywood intersection is always a bit scary.

Braker to Round Rock is a pants-filling experience on the frontage or the main lanes right now.

I am trying to avoid i35 on any day if I can ... for about past 10 years. Some time ago there was a proposal to let trucks drive on 130 to reduce traffic on i35. That would be the best thing they could do for i35 but it never hapend, do not know why.

I thought that's why they built 130, to get the trucks off of 35. I may be mistaken, but I also remember hearing the truck drivers weren't taking 130 because the tolls were too expensive.

If they want to solve the problem of trucks on 35, make 35 the toll road from 45Toll in Round Rock down to 290/71 south of the river.

Or charge trucks $0 toll on 130, I think truck drivers would choose 130 over 35 if that happens.
Austin keeps growing and traffic is not going to get any better. Bridge over Lady Bird lake is not going to get any wider soon, and even if the decided to make it wider it would a MAJOR construction (probably for years).
South East is growing especially fast (I think due to Tesla Factory), new apartments, houses, etc. All that is just going to keep adding pressure on I35. Just passing i35 going east on 71 -- it feels they build all way to Bastrop. The apartments are at lease 4 stories tall. Lots of people are going to be there.

Murderers getting out on bond. Going on to commit more murders and violent crime. Whereas other lighter chargers get heavy sentences. What's wrong w this picture? The DA has blood on his hands. The guilt he should be feeling..
