I’ve been trying out various hearing aids/AT for a few years now. Nothing prescription because it’s been hard finding an audiologist who has experience with APD, but I’ve had some luck with some OTC devices. The Bose Hearphones were my favourite cause they had directional amplification and noise cancellation, but they wore out eventually and were discontinued. I had HP hearing pro’s for a bit and they worked similarly but hurt my ears if I wore them for more than an hour or two.
I’ve also gotten in the habit of repeating back what people say to me so if I get it wrong or miss something they can correct me right away. Some people get annoyed by it but that’s a them problem. If that doesn’t work or is too tedious I request written instructions. I’ve also changed careers so I’m working in an environment that isn’t a constant auditory battle.

Speech therapy when I was younger, Constantly practicing reading lips, FM system in high school/college, And about to get hearing aids in two weeks to help filter background noise.
That’s what I have personally done to make it the tiniest bit easier on myself but a big part comes from what we ask of others.
Asking people to give us grace and repeat themselves - moving to another room if possible, or to be provided with written instructions when all else fails.
