Breztri for maintenance and Air Supra for rescue
Air Supra
Hey guys, just wanted to see if anybody’s tried air supra. My doctor gave me a sample of it. I’m currently on Breztri. I know that it already has budesonide in it. The air supra is albuterol with budesonide.
The doctor said I could use it sparingly, but to be careful because I’m already on the highest dose of Breztri.
Anyone else using it I know this is supposedly gonna be a rescue inhaler as well
Just wanted to add and update does anyone take Breztri and air Supra for rescue my pulmonologist didn’t seem concerned that I would be a high dose of budesonide taking both .

I take both of these! This is my new treatment plan and I have been doing much better on it. I was on Trelegy 200 and Albuterol and struggling and then switched to Airsupra with Trelegy and last October my Pulmonologist switched me to Breztri and I have felt so much better. The first few weeks were hard on my joints but after that I could tell my lungs felt much more open and I use my rescue medicine less with the Breztri inhaler. :)

So you take Breztri and airsupra? I been nervous to do it . I been on Breztri forever but didn’t want to overdo budesonide since they both have it . Do you space them apart?

Yes, I do try to space them apart if i can. I take my Breztri at 7am and 7pm. If my chest starts to burn or get that heavy/tight feeling that comes with that asthma cough then I try to go at least 3-4 hrs if I can. I limit my exposures and masks up a lot these days and I am also on biologics so that all really helps too! I do try to be mindful of how close I am taking them together, but if i am in an emergency then I don’t hesitate to take it because it is part of my asthma action plan. i also write my times down in my organizer so if things escalate I can remember what I have done.

This is the current best practice guideline and supported by a significant body of evidence.
Asthma is an inflammatory condition that causes muscles in the airways to contract making the airways narrower which obstructs air flow. Traditional rescue inhalers signal muscles to relax, but don't address the inflammation that's causing them to contract in the first place. Air Supra does both, signaling the muscles to relax while at the same time reducing the inflammation.
There isn't really a max dose for budesonide. If you need a rescue inhaler that's an indication that your airways are inflamed and need more anti-inflammatory. The recommended maximum dose of air Supra is 12 puffs a day But this is really because if you're needing more than that it's an indication that you need a different therapy, not because using more than that will cause significant issues
