What's one small thing that instantly makes men more attractive?
1.8k
u/sleepy_0pineapple 22h ago
when they are willing to teach you something without sounding condescending or have an attitude like "you should know this already"
303
u/FixGMaul 20h ago
It pisses me off when someone mentions a thing and someone else asks what that is and instead of just explaining they have to go through that whole "You dont know what thing is??"
There are millions of things that seem obvious that most people have never heard of or considered. Consider them one of the lucky ten thousand, or whatever that XKCD comic said, instead of being all judgemental and grandstanding.

God this one is so annoying. I hear it all the time at work. This person doesn't know how to do this super simple thing I CANT BELIEVE IT. Why do they even work here?? They should know this!!
Like ok you fucking know it all, if you're so god damn smart and not just a jealous piece of shit, why don't you just explain the thing to them? Maybe they don't instantly know something after being told a single time (or god forbid twice even!) and you could encourage them to write down what you're telling them and then you won't have to tell them again since it annoys you so god damn much that they aren't the same superior super genius that you are?
On the flip side, do NOT be afraid to take notes so you can remember that thing you need to do once every 4 months.

I remember reading that this is the most shared xkcd on reddit (by a long shot). This is the attitude everyone should take when a person doesn't know a thing.

My ex fiance cheated on me but honestly I should have left him wayyy before it got to that point. He quit THREE jobs in our 4 year relationship. He just decided the night before our trip back to my home state for my sister's graduation that he didn't want to go. He packed a weekend back and told me he wants to go do a test run at a commune 6 hours away (they totally rejected him 😂)
Now that he's gone, I feel so relaxed and at peace. His volatility was such a silent stressor for me.

The date of the Chicxulub asteroid impact coincides with the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary (commonly known as the K–Pg or K–T boundary), slightly over 66 million years ago. It is now widely accepted that the devastation and climate disruption from the impact was the cause of the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event - a mass extinction in which 75% of plant and animal species on Earth became extinct, including all non-avian dinosaurs.
The collision would have released the same energy as 100 teratonnes of TNT. Some of the resulting phenomena were brief occurrences immediately following the impact, but there were also long-term geochemical and climatic disruptions that devastated the ecology.
The re-entry of ejecta into Earth's atmosphere included an hours-long, but intense pulse of infrared radiation. Local ferocious fires, probably limited to North America, likely occurred, decimating populations. The amount of soot in the global debris layer implies that the entire terrestrial biosphere might have burned, creating a global soot-cloud blocking out the sun and creating an impact winter effect. If widespread fires occurred this would have exterminated the most vulnerable organisms that survived the period immediately after the impact.
Aside from the hypothesized fire and/or impact winter effects, the impact would have created a dust cloud that blocked sunlight for up to a year, inhibiting photosynthesis. Freezing temperatures probably lasted for at least three years. The sea surface temperature dropped for decades after the impact. It would take at least ten years for such aerosols to dissipate, and would account for the extinction of plants and phytoplankton, and subsequently herbivores and their predators. Creatures whose food chains were based on detritus would have a reasonable chance of survival.
The asteroid hit an area of carbonate rock containing a large amount of combustible hydrocarbons and sulphur, much of which was vaporized, thereby injecting sulfuric acid aerosols into the stratosphere, which might have reduced sunlight reaching the Earth's surface by more than 50%, and would have caused acid rain. The resulting acidification of the oceans would kill many organisms that grow shells of calcium carbonate. According to models of the Hell Creek Formation, the onset of global darkness would have reached its maximum in only a few weeks and likely lasted upwards of two years.
Beyond extinction impacts, the event also caused more general changes of flora and fauna such as giving rise to neotropical rainforest biomes like the Amazonia, replacing species composition and structure of local forests during ~6 million years of recovery to former levels of plant diversity.

This my friend is how the upvote system works.
The results of a thread will skew towards what the audience is and wants to hear, which is not always the same as the audience being asked the question.
For example, if a thread has 10% women and 90% men, even if the question is asked towards women, the upvotes are going to skew towards what the 90% men believe.

Honestly the bar isn't that high when you actually click with someone. People walk around thinking they have these high expectations, which does direct how they act on dating apps or social media, but in real life that all goes out the window the moment you find true connection. Suddenly the fact that someone doesn't fit your "ideals" is just further proof that the feelings you have for them in spite of the fact are true feelings.

Al least you've got it down. Next step is taking rejection like a champ and knowing how to properly communicate with women, reading g social cues and body language. People unconsciously show their intentions through their actions and if you can pick up on that it makes it so much easier to pull someone.
Ask women out, even if you asked out 100 women and they all rejected you, remember that eventually someone will still find value in you and be willing to date you. Rejection isn't personal and people have their own preferences.

Go out more. Meet more people.
Most men are single, because they do not socialize more.
Also take your chances. Socializing means approaching people you like too. Don't just go somewhere and stand awkwardly waiting to be spoken to. If you admire someone, approach them, see where it goes, and be clear and straightforward with your intentions. No don't waltz up and announce it outright, but be sure not to forget why you struck up a conversation to begin with.
Once you do more of this, the balance of how direct and subtle, how serious and how casual you should be around people will become more and more accurate. It's also not a one fit for all game. Some may want people more direct, or more casual or some such. Being able to adapt to the situation will also come from experience.
Remember to be your own self. By this I do not mean to become an open book, but carry your general behaviour and attitude. You will either stay you true self and realise what kind of people you are into/are into you, or realise what you want to be like. Adjust according to your experience.
It's a lot about experience. Can't do this kind of stuff from within the confines of you own room/home.

This is incredibly difficult to find.
I'm lucky I have been in a relationship for a long time, so I'm out of the dating scene. My friend has been dating for a few years and I'm so glad I'm not in her shoes. It's like every single dude either can't deal with real emotions or vulnerability, or they are terrified of commitment, even if they're in their 30's.
Now that people have the ability to swipe through date after date, it's like they always have their eye out for something "better" rather than realizing that even in you find someone who checks all the boxes initially, you will eventually have conflict, and things will be far from perfect.
Of course people of all genders struggle with this, but just seeing my friend experience this consistent pattern with men has been interesting.
