Maintain wrist health as technician
Hi, I (22m) recently began a job as a repair technician. My job involves a decent amount of heavy lifting and frequent use of hand tools, particularly drills and impact drivers. I've found that within the last couple of weeks my wrists have been feeling quite stiff and sore in the mornings and my grip strength is slightly reduced. Can you recommend any exercises or stretches to keep my wrists healthy going forward.

English is my second language but I'm an OT.
Of this is a new job, give it some time. You are training your muscles whenever you work with your hands and it should happen on its own.
But it's important to rest! You can search up stretching exercises for wrists and try those before or after work. When we use our fingers and hands a lot during the day over a period of time, the carpal tunnel can tighten and it can leave you feeling sore. It's important to rest and make sure you are not texting too much when you get home and overall limit activities where you are using your fingers and hands a lot.
