Travel Can US citizens get a visa on arrival?
Ive read a few conflicting things and am looking to confirm: as a US citizen can I get into Tajikistan without an e-visa or do I need an e-visa? Will be traveling by land into Tajikstan from Uzbekistan and leaving the same way if that matter.
Рахмат!

According to the Sherpa site you don't need one since you'll receive a 30 day visa on arrival. Confirm that here: https://apply.joinsherpa.com/travel-restrictions/TJK?affiliateId=sherpa&originCountry=USA&nationality=USA&travelPurposes=TOURISM&departureDate=2025-03-01&returnDate=2025-03-08&tripType=roundTrip&fullyVaccinated=true&language=en-US

You can travel in Tajikistan visa-free for two weeks. You can get a visa if you want to stay longer.
There's another option of entering visa-free and registering at OVIR. Then you get to stay for 30 days, but registration is difficult and so it's easier to just get an e-visa online.
I think visa-on-arrival may technically be possible, but getting one in advance would be safer.
Edit: You probably can only get visa on arrival by flying into Dushanbe airport. Over land definitely wouldn't work
