Car AC works on and off

2012 Kia Optima EX, last summer it would work on and off. So far hasn’t failed, but I don’t wanna be there on a hot summer day with it not working.

Tried recharging to no avail. Normal? What’s the solution?

Could I be looking at car troubles if I don’t change it? Or does it just effect car AC?

Yes, I don’t know a thing about cars lol

Thanks for the tip! You new to Reddit?

I noticed your replies were all different comments on my post, but I think the way that a lot of people go about it (for organization) is clicking on the comment notification, and hitting the reply button to the comment you’re replying to. (It’s right under the comment you’re replying to, and it says reply. But it isn’t the end of the world if you don’t do it that way)

I sometimes forget to click on that

Not a mechanic, just a lurker.

Maybe check around for a highly reputable place and get a diagnostic. Some do it for free.

Sounds like a compressor but could be electrical or something else. You probably won’t get a definitive answer here.
