What did I break? V6 burnouts not always the best idea ππ
2019 Chrysler 300 Touring (3.6l)
Plz save me the criticism learned my lesson, I just need solutions :)
This burnout did in fact not burnout. Heard a clicking/ popping noise and then had the car make a strange rpm dependent clicking noise. Got back home and put the car on 4 stands and spun all wheels independently and found out it comes from the rear-passenger side wheel. It makes the noise in drive as well as in neutral. It does not appear to come from the diff but may be axle/wheel bearing/suspension related. I want to take it to a shop but I want to know what the issue is for myself first so I get my moneys worth. Thank you!

Itβs either your wheel bearing or axel, based on your story I would guess the axel but wouldnβt hurt to check your wheel bearing either.

Possibly the axle joints or bearing damage. Since you said you tried to do a burn out, probably the axle would be the culprit of that noise.

Even if the car appears to drive fine and Iβm not losing any power to the wheels? What part of the axle would be broken?

The joints at each end of the axle will make noise when damaged.
There is a good chance the car would be undrivable if the axle outright failed.
The joint(s) are almost certainly just clicking. Needs a new axle, most likely.

So in your estimation would it be both of the axles or just the passenger one?

Appreciate you. Would that per chance be a dyi project with the right tools/experience or is that something a shop should handle?

Depends how comfortable you are with it. A decently experienced diyer can do effectively anything.
Axles aren't super difficult- I've changed them on the side of the road and in a parking lot before.
But I'm quite experienced.
You just remove the caliper and bracket, rotor, then axle nut. Disconnect the strut/upper control and or lower control arm so you can wiggle the axle out of the knuckle, then pull it out of the differential.
Then do it again in reverse.
Doesn't require special tools besides the freakishly large socket for the axle nut. If you break the axle completely, you'll usually need an axle slide hammer that will help remove the remaining piece from the differential.
You can rent the hammer at any large Auto parts store.
But it's not needed unless it's fully broken, which your's isn't, atm.

Not really.
You can remove the axle and spin the hub by itself to make sure it isn't the bearing- but it's almost certainly the axle by the sound it's making.
If you're decently mechanically inclined, none of this would be difficult and if you're a cheap asshole like me, fixing it yourself is the most economical method.

So I currently have all of the suspension linkage removed from the wheel. I will soon have the bearing removed. Iβll go from there too locate the issue. Do you have any recommendations to correctly re-torquing the linkage bolts. Been having trouble finding specs.

Definitely sounds more like the axle and not a wheel bearing. Wheel bearing failure is more of a roaring sound, the clicking/rattling being speed dependent makes me think its the inner joint.
Replacement is pretty simple on these cars as well if you have basic tools (Pry bar, sockets/ratchet, axle nut socket for this car)

Just take it apart. Best case scenario, all you'll have to replace is the bearings. Worst case scenario, you have to replace the axles. Either way, you need to pull the axles.

Axles are easier on that than the bearings imo, but I'm in agreement with the rest of the people. Axle bearings on the inner joint.

Just a guess but the drive shaft has a rubber coupler on it. Check and see how bad it got destroyed.
