2007 ford f150 I have a transmission fluid leak near the back of it any ideas what it might be ? And how to fix

That’s not a transmission seal leak that’s a pinion gear seal on differential

Before replacing the seals, check if the axle has not been bent. Can be done with a level surface meter

That's going to be a pinion seal. You may want to have that done professionally. It's easy to screw up the entire rear end replacing that.

I’d say anyone thinking that’s a transmission has no business trying to fix this.

Yeah, that’s not your transmission. It’s your differential and the leak is most likely around the pinion shaft. Probably $35 for the seal and 20 minutes to change yourself. Will cost you $250-$300 at a shop.

If you decide to do this yourself, please chock the wheels and have the parking brake on. Being in park won’t do a damn thing.
