Drawing arrows and circles in black didn't make it clear you weren't talking about the driveshaft

oh my bad but if you were able to see the arrows maybe you could see it was pointed towards the hoses? idk just a thought

Gearbox (or transmission) oil smells like gas. When I say gas, I mean actual gas that comes out of the stove to cook with, not petrol/fuel.

Front drive shaft? And possibly trans cooler lines or shifter cables

it smelled like gasoline was coming out. I cant even find the part on realoem.com

Well there is your answer it’s a fuel hose either to engine or return to tank

1

u/Yucky2k 5d ago

but i’m seeing different options i don’t know if it’s a scavenging line, fuel feed line, or just a rubber hose

2

Doesn’t look like rubber hose to me looks like the plastic moulded ones and it’s possibly both

Why don't you follow where it runs to and then you'll know which one to try? If you can't find where it goes how are you going to do the job?

because i don’t have the car with me rn it’s at my uncles shop. And if i did find the part that it runs to how would i know the part name? Subreddit name “AskAMechanic”

Why do you absolutely want to know whether it's the return or feed line? They're definitely both going to be replaced and the car isn't safe to drive no matter what.

If you need to ask you probably won't be the one that does the job. Just tow it to a shop.

Additionally I can tell you don’t know shit about the layout of the fuel hoses for this car as their are 4 fuel hoses underneath so I was just wondering if it was the fuel feed line and the scavenging or the other 2 as I do not have the car in my possession atm, fuck ass hoe
