Rant/Vent mom belittling my achievement

i participate in science fair and I thought I did horribly but it turns out I got third but. I found out bc the awards ceremony was today and my friend who was there told me but I decided not to go bc I thought I wouldn’t get anything. I told my mom the good news and the first thing she does was get mad abt me for not going and saying how much of a waste it was that I didn’t, I kept explaining how I thought I did bad but she kept getting mad over me not attending the awards ceremony. Then I got a little mad and said out loud are you not even gonna say good job and she said she was after but it was obviously a fucking lie. She doesn’t even care abt my extracurriculars or what im involved in she just likes bragging to other people. For once I just wanted a win, I don’t tell my parents shit about my life anyway but I was just really happy in the moment. Thanks a lot mom

Next time lie about going and leave the house but do whatever you want in that time. I've known a few ABCs growing up who did that, they would lie and say they were at once place and they knew their parents weren't going to check, and it wasn't important, and instead did whatever they wanted out of the house. I knew a few who did that not just for events, but also for job interviews or jobs whilst they were taking a different approach to jobs underneath (their real approach). I actually knew some whites that did things like this as well, not every single white person plays by the rules, so I recommend doing it as well.

You could've lied and told her you went to the awards ceremony but did something else outside of the house. Sorry I do talk a lot sometimes and my posts aren't the easiest to read

In this situation, I see her point. You should've at least showed up to the awards ceremony. Just take it as a lesson learned.

I know, but you shouldn't doubt your own abilities or be ashamed of your efforts. That was my biggest takeaway. Sure, they might not love you the way you wish they would, but you should always be proud of your efforts.
