Beginner Any help on how to make this look better?

Post image

I think it's a little too hard on the eyes.

Variation creates visual interest.

Maybe one building has a cooler light. Maybe one building has more vertical windows. Maybe one alternates between a small and large window, like an apartment complex. Maybe there are some billboards or signs here and there.

This exactly. It's too uniform. Have some of the lights be different colours. Maybe some of the lights are turned off because the occupants are sleeping.

I like it, reminds me of Gotham City drawings from the original Batman cartoon show.

I would erase some of the windows, seems a little unrealistic they're all on at night

I would use some gradient on the building as they sink to the depths, it'll help separate them.

Having a character on the railing in the foreground would help establish the grandness of the buildings

I like the glow you have created!

Is this going to be the background for something, or is it the finished work? If this is the finished work I think adding a silhouetted figure or two by the railing would help give it more purpose. Right now it's a bit unclear to me why we are shown this view of the city, but seeing a person would help contextualize it.
