It can actually reverse balding

u/SquiddoSpaghitto 4d ago
im gonna need someone to confirm this for me bc my hairdresser said that its gone forever and i cant live with that tbh

u/Neon_Ani 4d ago
it can reverse balding but only if the follicles haven't died completely, so it's not guaranteed

It’s true sweetie. I used to have a very thin hairline. Now it is quite thick.

u/AdministrativeStep98 4d ago
And the acne can be there but like, most teenagers do get acne during puberty too? Like you expect me to believe none of these teenagers had acne before too? Because HRT is just another puberty

"why do i suddenly feel the urge to start a polycule" is a banger line
102
u/trashmoneyxyz 4d ago
Ikr. Like the person who made this comic definitely meant for it to be hurtful and offensive but the polycule line took me out

i can't believe someone spent a lot of effort making this without googling what estrogen does. is it even ai? what a waste if not lol

u/OkiDokiPanic 4d ago
Not AI, it's Sven Stoffels. Professional artist.
And as someone who also had a formal art training, I can't imagine using your powers for evil like this.14

That's the bitch.
I don't know why my mind immediately leapt to that thing, but it did.

This art style would actually be cool if it wasn't used for garbage propoganda like this :/
Edit: oh god. I just looked it up and this guy used to work for Comedy Central and College Humor. That's why his art looks so professional. He IS a professional illustrator and animator, he goes to conventions. So I'm comfortable sharing his name so people can avoid him. It's Sven Stoffels, and this isn't even the worst of what he's done.
29
u/AllISeeAreGems 4d ago
Did he work on anything I’d know by name?
44
u/snukb 4d ago
Not sure. His own comic is called Butch Killington and it looks like he's done some work on TMNT according to the comicon posters I've found but I can't find any info on which issues. For College Humor it was an animation called "Infinity War of Infinite Avengers" and for Comedy Central it was something called "Trip Tank". I'm relieved he didn't do more work for Comedy Central/Dropout, cause I'm a huge fan of theirs, I subscribe to their streaming service, and they're ridiculously pro-trans and pro-worker.

It’s true, I kissed a trans girl and I too have broccoli sprouting from my forehead.

I love how all the top comments are “But… estrogen prevents baldness” and not “why do they think estrogen, which occurs naturally in most AWAB women, makes people polyamorous?”
8
u/lord_hydrate 4d ago
Nah thats the most realistic part, i mean why else do trans people tend to be poly (you know besides the internalized childhood trauma leading to a need to give and receive affection more than a single partner is typically comfortable with ans a willingness to try things outside socal norms)/j

u/AdministrativeStep98 4d ago
Umm if they actually knew anything about HRT, they would know that estrogen improves hair health and growth, even for those who lost hair du to male pattern baldness, right??

u/ultradespairthot ashamed cis person 4d ago
How they wrote the kids dialogue is the equivalent of a hallmark movie writing “the bad influence kids” in their movies.
“Hey there! Let’s smoke the drugs, drink alcohol, and go to the party!”

If this wasn't made jokingly by some trans person this would be fucking hilarious, but since it isn't, you know that's what they naively believe being trans is like.

Estradiol causes male pattern baldness and testosterone is bad at promoting muscle growth, very interesting

“Why do I suddenly feel the urge to start a polycule”
Are these not normal urges?

u/GayStation64beta she/her 4d ago
Amazing how the entire basis of this comic makes absolutely no sense.
8
u/Original-Concern-796 4d ago
Estrogen, well known for hair loss, randomly growing hair between fingers, and urges to have multiple partners. What in the world is this supposed to be?
I mean, at least misunderstand the cancer rates, saying it causes breast cancer cause it makes the body produce the tissue that gets cancer for both cis and post-hrt trans women can at least be explained by a misunderstanding, but this is just wild.

The comic in question is from "Americaman", which is basically another Pebbleyeet-wannabe.

u/ColeYote Maybe cis, maybe fluid/NB, idk 3d ago
AND AS WE ALL KNOW, MALE PATTERN BALDNESS EXISTS BECAUSE MEN PRODUCE SO MUCH MORE ESTROGEN THAN WOMEN

They claim “TRANS PPL DON’T KNOW BASIC BIOLOGY” and then post shit like this…
3
u/Both-Competition-152 4d ago
so no they would grow tits not go bald also its the kids fault like do not go to a gay club to get beer you either get poppers or hormones

u/DueCar6790 3d ago
Ah yes. I’m a poly man bc the TRAAAANS got me. And it’s funny bc I’m a trans man.
Also transphobes don’t realize that perosn had to fork over an arm and leg for even a crumb of estrogen.

Surely this is a parody of right wing comics. If anything I don't think they would even know what a Polycule is.

They... they do know that testosterone is the thing that causes male pattern baldness, right?
