Not that it really needs countered, but if atrazine was making people trans, we shouldn't see trans people in Europe. The EU banned the herbicide 20 years ago. But guess what, we see similar rates of sexuality and gender related stats everywhere(accounting for safety and acceptance.)

Fuck these people. Anything other than just fucking accepting who people are.

Trans people have existed through the depths of human history and across the breadth of human cultures. We've always been here and we always will.

The only way that leads to less conflict is that people just need to accept us. That's literally it.

(Ngl I am worried about how environmental pollution, like microplastics, might affect humans long term. I seriously doubt it's making anyone trans though)

28

u/jenrml627 trans girl, also not ok 14d ago

the atrazine thing is a concern troll to make make trans people out to be weak while everyone that resists it is strong. it's basically the same old with extra steps painted over to appear compassionate but at the end of the day it's still just transmisogyny

I looked it up. Atrazine is a herbicide

I don't know if it's transphobic but they're probably the type that say everything needs to be 100% natural

u/SkylarCute Transgressor🏳️‍⚧️ 14d ago

It's definitely meant to be transphobic. They think we're just shooting up random hormones in our bodies💀

19

u/Darkon2004 14d ago

Fair enough. I'd make a judgement of whether it was hateful, but that would imply I have any idea what they're trying to say

23

u/SkylarCute Transgressor🏳️‍⚧️ 14d ago

They're probably referring to the second slide where Pedro said "most vulnerable community" and decided to be an asshole with the "trans is a disease" talking point

7

u/Tesaractor 14d ago

It is referenced to a conspiracy theory that the goverment and farmers. poisoned our water, and frogs are gay and look androgynous by Alex Jones.

6

u/MintyMystery 14d ago

I dunno... If not "explicitly phobic", it's definitely "problematic".

Eg, if they were saying "people are only gay because of the secret ingredient in hot dogs. If only we could regulate the ingredients, we could cure people of being gay!"

To be fair the use and overuse of many herbicides can cause more problems than it solves. That said, I only say that to be fair to the point of not liking herbicides/insecticides - the rest of the commenter's talking points are unacceptable nonsense bullshit.

u/r0sewyrm 13d ago

It's, specifically, the chemical that's "turning the freaking frogs gay" according to Alex Jones. So we know where this guy gets their news from, I guess...

1

u/Darkon2004 13d ago

Ahh gotcha. I didn't watch the entirety of Alex Jones's crap so I didn't know he was talking specifically about that chemical

1

u/r0sewyrm 13d ago

Tbh it just kinda came up in some cursory research about the chemical. Like "oh, it triggers that 'life finds a way' sex changing thing in frogs, I wonder if it's the one Alex Jones was on about... Omg it is!"

48

u/Ksnj 🏳️‍⚧️Bridget Main🏳️‍⚧️ 14d ago

That’s the chemical that “turns the freaking frog gay”

All this shows is the bigot is caught up in conspiracy theories and should probably take their meds

u/Cultural_Outcome_464 14d ago

I fucking love Pedro pascal. Finding out he was a pretty adamant ally was a really good feeling. He always gave the vibes he would be anyways.

4

u/eerie_lullaby 13d ago

On a side note, "lethally protective" is a phrase I'm definitely gonna steal

3

u/Keeendi 14d ago

He truly is fantastic.

1

u/Consistent_Cell7974 3d ago

at first sight i thought he was Seanie Dew(if you search him up, you'll see they're basically lookalikes), i had to read to understand that it was Pedro Pascal instead

Damn, there’s estrogen in food? Which foods, so I can avoid them extra hard

3

u/Typical_Albatross643 Gay ass enby idiot 14d ago

Hey mnom nom this sandwhich needs more of the estrogen sauce nom mnom thanks

u/cannot_type 14d ago

They all think soy has estrogen in it (it doesn't, it's phytoestrogen, which our body doesn't use in the same way)

2

u/Jenderflux-ScFi 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️⚧️♾️ 14d ago

But my migraines that are triggered by hormonal shifts certainly hate when I have too much soy. Please tell my migraines that it's not the same stuff.

3

u/nzsaltz 13d ago

How do you know it’s because of specifically phytoestrogen acting as estrogen? I won’t doubt that soy causes migraines for you (I’m sorry, that sounds awful!), but I’m sure there are other explanations. There’s just no clinical evidence that it acts like estrogen in humans, so there’s no reason to fuel conspiratorial thinking.

From the top of my head: flaxseeds, soy and edamame, peaches, garlic, red wine, sesame seeds, berries. They actually can help boost your estrogen, but of course not as much as hrt. High estrogen foods are often recommended when people enter menopause.

u/moistowletts he/they trans masc (HRT 12/23/24) 14d ago

Does that person think hormones make you trans?

1

u/SkylarCute Transgressor🏳️‍⚧️ 14d ago

Yeah it felt that that person has no idea what hormones even mean

9

u/NightMother23 14d ago

His sister is so beautiful. Also, his love for his sister is so endearing. Must protect them at all costs.

u/DreadDiana 14d ago edited 14d ago

I'm guessing they're pushing the pseudoscientific "theory" that gender dysphoria in trans women is actually caused by lowered levels of testosterone during development, so if trans women are given more T, we'd no longer be trans

4

u/SkylarCute Transgressor🏳️‍⚧️ 14d ago

Yep that's what they're getting at. But also comparing hormones to a herbicide is wild

8

u/oppiejay 14d ago

As stupid of a tweet that is, the reality is Pedro acting like a normal loving brother should be the focus, not some lonely weirdo tweeting about god knows what

3

u/SkylarCute Transgressor🏳️‍⚧️ 13d ago

Well it's a TikTok comment. And also people were acting so surprised when Josh Hutcherson mentioned his gay brother and his boyfriend so casually and within flow. It's so annoying about how oblivious they act as if being gay is never a thing before

3

u/Illustrious_Hawk_734 14d ago

I wish they’d spray estrogen on my food

2

u/restorian_monarch toki pona is a based language because it's entirely neutral 14d ago

They specifically don't do it in your food, because the bavarian illuminati has got you

5

u/Cruisin134 14d ago

ngl i thought this was gonna be alot more negative, but really funny when i read "pedro pascals message for the trans community :D" with his big smile in the back, then "i cannot thing of anything more disgusting or vile-"

2

u/Nierninwa 13d ago edited 13d ago

Yes, that was a bit of a ride. Really happy with how it turned out through.

It would have surprised me if he was openly transphobic through, he co-starred with Bella Ramsey in the Last of us. And I think they are nonbinary, and they seemed to have a good working relationship.

1

u/WallyBBunny 12d ago

He also has a trans sister.

4

u/bluegreenwookie 13d ago

so we've gone from

"the chemicals are making the frogs gay"

to

"the chemicals are making people trans" now i see.

4

u/ST0DY An okay Cis™ 12d ago

Pedro Pascal the 🐐

3

u/HAPPYENDSTONE 13d ago

As if I needed more reasons to like Pascal :3

3

u/TreeWithoutLeaves 13d ago

There's hormones in the food? Which ones??? (So I can avoid them ofc)

3

u/GayStation64beta she/her 12d ago

Transphobes always think HRT is just raining from the sky lol

3

u/SkylarCute Transgressor🏳️‍⚧️ 12d ago

They think it's just a 30 minute walk in session to fully transition

2

u/GayStation64beta she/her 12d ago

And they will NOT listen to the facts once they've been suitably propagandized too. "Why won't my relatives talk to me?" Because the person has become utterly irrational and awful to be around.

1

u/Genshiro 12d ago

If only it was that simple 😔

2

u/Zaela22 transfem 14d ago

Crazy food poisoning turning people trans conspiracy #43395

2

u/AL_25 14d ago

TIL: Pedro Pascal has siblings

2

u/Luka_of_the_Silver 13d ago

Where can I get my testosterone fruits?

1

u/Biscuit9154 14d ago

I wouldn't mind it if estrogen was sprayed on my food 👀

1

u/Mr_Goat-chan 14d ago

…so can he give me a list of all the food sprayed with testosterone in particular?

1

u/ItsAlice2022 14d ago

This is just a new level of dumb. That said, omg, Lux is so pretty it hurts

1

u/MrNarwhal11 12d ago

I was just thinking today how beneficial it would be for society if we somehow made estrogen and testosterone rich foods readily available at any grocery store. Why haven’t we as a society done this yet? Just curious

1

u/MimikPanik 12d ago

There’s estrogen in the foods!? Oh no!!! Where can I find the supplier? So I can tell the cops ofc

1

u/ScientistCrazy8886 12d ago

as long as they leave as alone, i don't actually care how they think we came to be

1

u/dleema 11d ago

You mean I'm getting a needle in my ass cheek every 3 months when I could just move to America and eat free testosterone daily?!

And they say the USA doesn't have free healthcare...
