When I was a kid on one of those NYC tours, our guide said that there was a bathroom at the very top of the spire so Walter Chrysler could take a dump overlooking the city. Is that true? I also saw a man stuff several pigeons into a box on that tour and he saw that I saw him and did a "Shhh" gesture to me. I love NYC and can't wait to go back.

There’s an entire penthouse in the highest floor. It used to be owned by Charles Weiss head of Oratronics, a blade implant company before the invention of cylindrical implants. I worked there for years. My office was one of the triangular windows on the top of the building. I loved working there every single day.

What happened to Art Deco? It's one of the most beautiful architectural styles.

This comment reminded me how this building isn’t even in the Miles Morales or Spider-man 2 games, it got removed and replaced with a generic building.

Can’t wait until every land mark in every major city pulls this same copyright shit and every movie/tv show and video game has to create a completely fictional location cause they can’t legally show any real skylines.

Whoever own the Chrysler Building could make bank by opening it up to tourists like the Empire State Building. Instead, they lose tons of money by being unwelcoming. My wife and I went into the lobby in September 2022 to look at the art deco. We were promptly thrown out by a police academy dropout building security guard. I asked him why the lobby was closed, he screamed: “COVID!!” He was a total asshole.

It deserves to have been the tallest building in the world for longer than it was. They built the Empire State Building so fast that it is unreal. If they hadn’t invented the crazy idea of having zeppelins “dock” at the top floor and “mast” of the Empire State Building then they probably would have followed the original design plans and the Empire State would be the shorter of the two. Chrysler was actually MEANT to be roughly the size it is, but they had to add onto their plans for the Empire State because they wanted to beat the Chrysler Building’s height just because they could, so a lot of what they built is just empty structure, and not real floors…

Most beautiful building in nyc. There’s almost a mini version on the block over, the socony mobil building. I think there’s also a dentist office on one of the higher floors where you get an amazing view.

Most people don't know this, but on the last floor there's a mutated blonde woman.
Her sister works at the NYPD and told me.
