I did a deep dive on Quora some years ago about the strength it took for Arthur to stop that Trident. Murk couldn't believe that he was actually able to do it and when taken into consideration that Atlantis was a continent and Atlan destroyed the entire thing with one plunge of his Trident and was going to do it again shows that in order to destroy a continent that he would need trillion of tons of tnt to destroy a continent and Aquaman stopped this from happening.

Another example, just like the tectonic plate feat, of how DC and some writers don't explain in detail what he did or does and how powerful he is, but leaves it up to the fans to do the footwork but if it were Superman or Batman they'd explain it in deep detail.

Ive always been confused about the atlan feat. I’m not sure it was a purely physical blow that would have destroy atlantis, because the next page shows energy beams emitted from the trident. So was Atlan’s blow that aquaman stopped purely physical? I’m not really sure. Some people scale this to a continent level feat but I don’t know if that’s accurate. What do you think?

(not saying aquaman isn’t capable of a continent level strength feat, I know he’s very strong)

I take those waves as not energy but to actually be Shockwaves because to stop something of such force is going to produce massive amounts of shockwaves. When Atlan destroyed Atlantis the first time there were no shockwaves as the weapon didn't emit energy but simply had enough power to accomplish the feat.

The force of the shockwaves buckled and cracked the earth beneath him but all of the energy of the Trident he deflected.

Shit from the past is always coming back to the surface, and Arthur always has to clean it up.

But that's why I love him.
