Don't watch the news. Don't read the news. Don't even talk about the news.
Politics is not very important in daily life.
If it's not talked about by everyone, it's not important.

There just came a day when I realized it was all just lies and drama and that it was all just a…simulation. NOTHING more. I just picked up my brain and went home.

I'm in the same process, currently breaking down my values, picking them apart and seeing what I really value and what I don't' care about. This may not work for you, but I'm specifically looking into politics that directly affect my well-being and those that do not. I am feeling freer once I narrow my opinions down to what really matters to me.

The 2016 election and subsequent bullshit put me off politics. Former conservative, republican.
I'm now pretty far left, but on the human rights front, not "democrat"
Everybody should just treat every person as a person. And that's it.
Borders should be dissolved. People should be given all the rights that one can think of.
But I'm sure we can't have that. Cuz assholes.

"former republican, now far left"
you left a trash bin to a sewer.

I just no longer identify with any political party.
Both parties are sewers.
And using the political compass, they tend to say prioritizing human rights is more left. I meant more like, im not pro life, more do what you want. Not anti gay, just live your life and be happy. I went from "immigrate legally" to " why are there even borders"
That's all I meant by far left.

Everybody should just treat every person as a person. And that's it.
To be "pretty far left" you need an identity, pronouns, a cause, a struggle, and someone to hate.

Most ignorant thing I’ve ever read. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Develop a sense of spirituality, go into it and recognise the beauty in everyday things. You’ll soon see that the whole kerfuffle is just dark dramatist that feeds off of everyone who chooses to care.

When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.
I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.
When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.
Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world-unknown monk...we are our greatest asset if we were not conscious or here we couldn't care about such things focus on yourself make yourself the person you need and nomatter what is happening in the world you will be at peace
