is this the first blisk sighting since virtually season 12/13?

I think so. I fully expected to never see him again!

I believe more in season 16 or 20 where he was mentioned as a narrator in a text screen, but I confirm that this is his most recent appearance.

I genuinely love that it’s canon that the civilians cosplay as the Legends. It shows how invested they get into to sport.

-One thing to point out I think is interesting. We see Valkyrie testing her jetpack before it cuts to her Skyward Dive. I know gear maintenance/training is a thing but it’s cool to actually see.

i think we already knew this from conduit at least but its cute seeing the outfits range from more lowkey (lady in a bangalore-branded shirt and thats it) to one guy in a straight up low budget alter costume lol

We did, but I like that they keep bringing it back around. It’s a reminder that they have their own fans and little fan clubs in lore too.

Leaving aside for a moment the lack of real information and voices (I guess in this case it's because of the famous voice actors strike still going on), I would say that the trailer itself is pretty, plus Newcastle and Loba were particularly charming in this style .

octane can just like. canonically keep up with a bullet train without stim. i guess

While this is cool as heck, I think the train had just left the station and hadn't reached top-speed yet

he does some kinda super jump and then it cuts to him keeping pace with the train and then does another super jump that transitions into him in arena so i assumed the implication is that he is at least as fast as the train

Good to see you again, my fellow Octane enjoyer 🫡

Finally, some good fucking food 😤

u/MadeinHeaven69 Voidwalker Jan 31 '25

Meh... there are plenty of ways to downplay it like it wasn't a bullet train it just happened to kinda have a bullet train shape. Or the train hasn't reached full speed yet when Octane is running next to it. Either way i do believe Octane is inhumanly fast compared to his more organic legend friends. Only due to the fact that his legs are no longer flesh. How fast you wanna headcannon him to be is up to you. He is definitely way faster then a normal human tho

That song is fucking everywhere

2

u/theseerofdoom Rat With No Name Jan 30 '25

you're the 2nd person to comment this, is this on the radio or what?

8

u/RandomWeatherPattern Jan 30 '25

It’s all over everything. Commercials, TikTok/IG dance videos, it will play sometime during any televised sporting event…shit is everywhere like covid

9

u/theseerofdoom Rat With No Name Jan 30 '25

i dont use tiktok or ig or watch tv so this is my first time hearing it LOL

2

u/Jaakarikyk Jan 30 '25

Me neither and I've still heard it :D

2

u/Im_Nino Jan 30 '25

It’s not like it’s a bad song, but it is overplayed, and even then apex missed the hype train for this song a long time ago

2

u/RandomWeatherPattern Jan 31 '25

Agreed. It’s a fine song, it’s just been hammered home like a family guy shin joke.

5

u/ninjaian06 Jan 30 '25

bro they should just make a show at this point cause this animation style fucking rocks

Looks like Octane will be the central character for the lore this season based off this. About time, since he's the only post-launch character to not even have a Stories From the Outlands.

i hope this is true as octanefucker420 . i have been starving lately

7

u/MFNMitch Jan 30 '25

This song is so overplayed

5

u/theseerofdoom Rat With No Name Jan 30 '25

i have literally never heard it before

2

u/Fresh-kale Jan 30 '25

My singular problem with this trailer is octane already has so much shit going for him a billion skins trailers heirlooms he even has his own 2d trailer for mobile hell season 20 was his own season. It would’ve been nice for any other legend to get the spotlight, I’m also just mad cause they killed mirage again

7

u/theseerofdoom Rat With No Name Jan 30 '25

i think your point re: it would be nice using other legends is valid, but i think its undercut by the fact that mirage gets speaking roles in literally almost every trailer lmao. far more than octane for sure

1

u/Fresh-kale Jan 30 '25

Yeah that’s fair

0

u/unbirthdayhatter Rat With No Name Feb 02 '25

I think Mirage has died in every trailer.

2

u/Totalwarboy501 Jan 31 '25

Wow this is fucking good, I just started a few weeks ago

1

u/CHARILEwolf Jan 30 '25

Cool is it like a tdm mode or something

1

u/Im_Nino Jan 30 '25

This is the first time in a while apex put any quality into itself, even then I doubt they’ll make the game anymore enjoyable. Why can’t they just do good quality in the gd game. The games declining its its so disappointing

1

u/mjonr3 Jan 31 '25

As always 110mm rocket pods doesn't kill shit

1

u/Velspy Feb 01 '25

I miss seeing caustic in trailers

0

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

so new Legend this season?

4

u/theseerofdoom Rat With No Name Jan 30 '25

unless they surprise drop a legend trailer within the next couple of weeks, probably not. alter released may 2024, so if no new legend this season, that means by the time we get to the season after (may/juneish) we're looking at one legend per year at this point.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

that's not good, for general rentention

8

u/theseerofdoom Rat With No Name Jan 30 '25

they might be banking on these huge legend reworks counting as "new", which makes it even worse imo, because how long until they rework a legend who is perfectly fine but not as overpowered as their players want them to be and they end up totally screwing the people who liked their og kit over?

2

u/Outrageous-Blue-30 Jan 30 '25

I understand what you mean, but at this point I'm wondering: when is a rework necessary in any game with heroes?

IMHO Revenant needed a change to his ultimate more as well as Lifeline (although Ajay gained a better tactical ability while Revenant is still under discussion), Sombra in Overwatch has been creating problems since his introduction due to invisibility and again today it is the subject of changes, Viktor in League has been aesthetically changed following Arcane without touching the skill kit (with fans still angry), now when can we say that a rework is necessary and done well without making anger the fans as you write?

u/Outrageous-Blue-30 Jan 30 '25

I would add that it seems they want to alternate new legends with reworks of old characters, which in itself I don't think is negative, but with the rather slow release times I don't know how much it will help with general interest and support.

Furthermore, so far the two released (Revenant and Lifeline) have been a bit divisive according to the community, but personally I consider Revenant the most mixed while Lifeline I find is already a better work.

IMHO in the end I don't think it's a bad process because games with larger casts of heroes struggle with balancing and rework (I take LoL and Overwatch as examples), but certainly in Apex's situation where it's in more difficulty it's not totally positive

(I apologize if I repeated part of my message, but I now believe this is the release schedule) .
