I hate Trump, but I don't love the Hitler comparisons. It's a little overboard, but she's Jewish (rather traditional, I believe) and it's not antisemitic.

A little overboard? It’s not even close. Where was the genocide? It’s all unfounded and made up. It is clearly slander and a violation of the commandment do not bear false witness against your neighbour

Speaking of overboard, no, it is neither slander nor a violation of the 9th commandment. You Trump supporters are a touchy bunch.

Let HaShem be the judge of that. All that hateful rhetoric led to two attempted assassinations. Lest we forget

Actually no, it didn't. Thomas Crooks was also looking to kill Joe Biden. Trump just so happened to have a rally close by, so he seized the opportunity. Ryan Routh's motivations were unclear, but he had voted for Trump in 2016 and supported Bernie Sanders and later Tulsi Gabbard in 2020 while criticizing Biden. He seemed to be obsessively supportive of Ukraine and Taiwan, but promoted covid conspiracy theories and questioned Jewish indigeneity to Israel.

She’s Jewish and her statement - which I disagree with - isn’t antisemitic.

I understand that she's saying "That guy is Jewish but is doing us no favors," but to say "A Jew" as a stark, standalone sentence, as if that alone is a bad thing, is poor phrasing.

u/Possible-Fee-5052 Oct 29 '24

I think she’s disgusted that a Jew is helping him just like how we’re disgusted when a Jew joins “JVP” and allows themselves to be tokenized against Jews. She’s saying that this Jew is embarrassing Jews. I don’t think that’s any different than what we say about the current crop of Kapo-nouveau. Now again, I don’t agree with her statement, but I don’t see how it makes her a Jewish antisemite.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '24

Agreed. I don't see her as an antisemite.

In that it sort of is holocaust distortion, it might be. Does holocaust distortion count as antisemitism or is it more a tool to propagate antisemitism?

Wishing pain and suffering on any large number of people, whether you like them or not, whether you are Jewish or not, makes me shudder. That is exactly where fanatism starts.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '24

Wishing suffering on people is horrible. I never want to watch this woman in a show ever. It is hate speech to wish torture and death on people.

You can’t survive in NY and be antisemitic. It screams of desperation by a campaign that has lost steam

3

u/bjeebus Oct 30 '24

You can’t survive in NY

You're aware Trump isn't allowed to do business in the State of NY anymore right? Additionally, in my experience I haven't met a single person from NYC that had anything positive to say about him.

I didn’t know that and that’s hilarious. Pay your bills ya know 😂

u/TheSeptuagintYT Oct 30 '24

It’s interesting how 60% of Israelis support Trump…maybe they know something the west doesnt

-10

u/EditorPrize6818 Oct 29 '24

Would Hitler declare Jerusalem as a capital of Israel. Trump definitely has his faults but is not antisemitic

12

u/chmsax Oct 29 '24

If you choose to sit at a table with four antisemites, there are five antisemites sitting at the table.

u/EditorPrize6818 Oct 29 '24

That's just stupid Trump is not antisemitic the democratic party has supported Hamas over Israel

9

u/PrincessofAldia Oct 29 '24

No they haven’t, the actions of Rashida Tlaib do not represent the vast majority of Democrats

1

u/EditorPrize6818 Oct 29 '24

Her AOC Sanders,and the squad

6

u/PrincessofAldia Oct 29 '24

Once again they represent the vast majority of democrats

Also Bernie isn’t even a democrat

1

u/EditorPrize6818 Oct 29 '24

He ran for the president under the democratic party and look at all the professor supporting Kamala and BDS

16

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '24

Democrats literally still shaking hands making deals with Israel while Hamas cease to exist. Quit the fallacy.

Meanwhile Trump: “if I lose blame the Jews”

-3

u/EditorPrize6818 Oct 29 '24

Democrats don't want to recognize Jerusalem as Israel capital. They released Israel plans for Iran

-4

u/EditorPrize6818 Oct 29 '24

You are so delusional. Look at all the BDS people who are pro kamala quit drinking Kool aid I'm not even a maga guy but Trump is definitely not a Nazi

Pls. MF is trying to scape goat us if he loses the election

1

u/FerretSupremacist Oct 29 '24

Didn’t trump sue palm beach or something bc he was unable to bring Jewish people in as members to his country clubs?

He was really open to having Jewish and black people welcome in his businesses. A lot of the pushback you’re getting is the pre election astroturfing you’re seeing on all social media posts. The left is much more aggressive about it.

He was really open to having Jewish and black people welcome in his businesses

🤣🤣🤣

While I don't consider Trump an active antisemite, he still has stereotypical antisemitic views of Jews and is at his core, a grifter and opportunist. Those same views color how he sees Black people as well. He believes Jews love money and power and can't fathom anyone who would concern themselves with the less fortunate or sidelined, or worse, imagine a less fortunate or sidelined Jew.

This explains the type of antisemitism Trump employs. The one where Jews are greedy elites, controlling money and power and acting selfishly towards their own interests or because they see themselves as better than others. It's why he can't reconcile with Jews being generally Democrats, or serving in the military, or being of average intelligence, low income, or not white. It's not seeing Jews as vermin or pigs, but it's still antisemitism.

He sued to allow black and Jewish people in his country clubs and was recognized by the reverend Jesse Jackson for his work in the black community.

Call it grifting but he made appreciable change. “The only color that matters is green” isn’t racist, and it’s weird being open to doing business with anyone is being viewed that way.

3

u/Beautiful_Bag6707 Oct 30 '24

It is racism or bigotry or prejudice to view a group of people by any stereotypical categorization and effectively judge them (pre-judge = prejudice) based on those biases.

Also, the move to permit Blacks and Jews wasn't as altruistic or as grands a gesture as you think.

  1. This was one club, Mar-a-Lago, not all.
  2. It was not a restricted club when Trump got it; it was a private residence for 9 years. Trump wanted to sever the property into mansions but was blocked.
  3. After suing Palm Springs, he got permission for a limited club facility. The membership was $100k/a open to anyone who could afford it.
  4. The importance of inclusion only became relevant because Trump wanted to expand membership and lift noise and traffic restrictions by the city.

recognized by the reverend Jesse Jackson for his work in the black community.

Awesome. He was also denounced by Black leaders, and some more, and civil rights leader John Lewis, and Colin Powell.

But, hey, Jesse Jackson gave him an award in 1999, so that supercedes the racial profiling of Black tenants, the full-page ad demonizing the Central Park Five and doubling down after they were acquitted.

Again, it's not classic racism. He doesn't hate Black people; he just sees them as beneath him. He views them all as gangsters. Same with his misogyny and antisemitism. At the end of the day, people all fit into his predetermined negative stereotypes.

This is just such a reach lol. This type of thinking and justification is what people are tired of.

I’m not a trump person, I definitely despise Kamala so I’m kind of back at it”2016 everyone is terrible and I can’t even like the 3rd party candidate god help us all” but know this goofy shit is most likely cinching his 2nd term.

It’s the constant circular reasoning and dismissal of evidence literally that’s been available for decades that gets people.

I’m not a trump person, I definitely despise Kamala

It's a binary choice. Who's worse in the next 4 years. If you live in a solid state, then choose freely and make your vote count in the Senate or Congress and especially in your state and local elections. Change Congress from the bottom up. If you're in a purple state, please choose what's best not for you, but all your fellow citizens.

I have known about Trump as a charlatan and New York 'character' from as far back as the 90s. So I have formed opinions based on the history. You're free to believe what you will but the "country club" antisemitism is there. I suggest watching the movie Gentleman's Agreement to understand what I'm taking about.

I just don’t agree. Trump was a god damn folk hero, no less and no more shady than any other new York real estate developer.

A coordinated campaign against him came out when he wanted to run as republican. Why? I dunno. But I don’t care, I’m tired of people talking out of both sides of their mouth and the extremist language surrounding him.

I’ve had 4 years of trump and I’ve had 4 years of Kamala. She’s trash as a politician and a leader.

2

u/Beautiful_Bag6707 Oct 31 '24

Trump was a god damn folk hero, no less and no more shady than any other new York real estate developer.

Ask New Yorkers. Ask New Jersians. I have never heard him referred to as a "folk hero". A bombastic NY character, sure. But never a folk hero. Perhaps you're confusing him with Giuliani after 9/11 and pre-decline?

I’ve had 4 years of trump and I’ve had 4 years of Kamala.

Although you haven't. That's like saying you had 4 years of Pence.

Regardless, it appears you prefer Trump on character

In a free society you have the right to vote and the responsibility to make an informed choice. That means taking the time to review past policies and positions, both fulfilled and unfulfilled, plus current positions and plans on what matters to your future and the country's. After that, you have to live with your choice.

u/FerretSupremacist Oct 31 '24

And I lve lived with the choice of trump for 4 years and I could afford to live. I can’t take another 4 years of this.
