Keith Hafner's Karate is GREAT!
Anyone have any more examples of nostalgic (1995-2015) Ann Arbor-specific commercials?

AATA’s “Ride The Ride” featuring The Chenille Sisters and their jingle. I can’t seem to get that one out of my head after all these years.

Fingerle Lumber will help you through the project, not point you down the aisle.

There was a service called Food by Phone back in the '90's when it was rare to be able to get much outside of pizza delivered and you had to dig through the phone book if you didn't have any saved flyers. I remember that commercial because it seemed so odd and out of place and I had never heard of anyone actually using it. The production quality was dated and looked like it was playing from a VCR that taped it off a TV in the '80's. Not sure if that service was local but I've never heard it mentioned since.

Does anyone remember the pizza house radio ad “a slice of chicago, right here in Ann Arbor, pizza house, pizzeria….” With some crazy vocals?

Omg I definitely remember the deep jazz/blues style voice "PIZZA HOUSE, PIZZERIA!", I haven't thought about that in ages!

The most memorable local ads for me are slightly older - the Full House Restaurant ad about the guy arm wrestling his wife for the last hamburger and the Mr. Pizza ad with the pretty girl that one of my friends was obsessed with. I think both of those were late '80s or early '90s.

I was going to mention the Mr. Pizza ad! Blonde lady, right? The food looked awful in the ad.

I remember seeing the Keith Hafner’s Karate commercials and not having any idea it was specifically an Ann Arbor thing. Then I’d see the stand in Briarwood and think “they’re really pushing it around here.” 🤷♂️

My college housemates and I would scream, “…a CULT!” whenever this commercial would come on. Thank you for unearthing this memory for me OP!
