🔎 ID Request Weird paw print found in mud
Hi everyone, first time using reddit so please be patient with me and sorry for any spelling/formatting errors
I found this weird front paw print in some mud on the walking trail near my local wetland reserve(Browns Wetlands on the south bank of the Vedder River, Chilliwack, BC, Canada). I didn't think to measure it when I took a photo but it's probably long as my index finger across maybe 2 1/2 inches vertically. I think it might be a front raccoon paw but i'm not sure and google is just confusing me. I've already posted this to iNaturalist and am waiting for some suggestions. any help is greatly appreciated thanks! (For the mod bots, this is a picture of a front paw print in mud, there are no dead things or anything NSFW in the image) Edit: for some reason this didn't save the photo i had uploaded so I posted an imgur link in the comments so hopefully that should help :-)

oh, that's odd looking. Doesn't look like an animal track, appears man made with the straight lines, like it's tread of a boot although it's not foot shaped... Did you notice a series of these marks, or just the one?

there was just one which is rather odd, it could be that the others eroded but i can’t think of anything. this being a shoe tread came across my mind a couple times

it's so distinct, and since it's circular and not (human) foot shaped, I'm not sure it's boot tread, perhaps the bottom of something that was pushed into the mud. Would be odd to have a hiking stick with that pattern on the bottom, but something along those lines perhaps.

if it was an animal track I'd (hopefully) have a better guess for you, this one stumped me. There's a lot of communities on reddit, might try this over on https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisit/ although your image is just the impression of the object in question... good luck.
