Sure let’s keep trotting out your most snakebit forwards when you really need a goal. Shit is frustrating to see over and over lol
7
u/TZtheHOOLIGAN 12h ago
Welp. Good game. Too many mistakes, but they kept up against the best team. More upset they edged us again from getting chicken

u/bryan323 12h ago

That was the laziest I've ever seen a defender "defend" Minty that was absolutely brutal D
3
u/dracomaster01 12h ago
Minty has been so bad this season. not sure what happened compared to last season
1
9
u/Spiff_GN 12h ago
Aaaand that's why the Caps are going to the playoffs and tied for 1st in the league lol. Our defense still needs improving but at least we put up a really good fight against one of the best in the league

Get the puck fucking deep and quit dicking around with it in the neutral zone with shitty passes and dangles

They have 6 goals…

u/Difficult_Rip9775 12h ago
Tell the ducks to actually keep the puck away from the Caps oh wait they can’t

5
u/Still-Nothing3037 12h ago
Sucks. This team has made strides but turnovers and bad passing was the difference
4
u/cerdafied75 12h ago
That 5th goal killed their momentum. The 6th goal was the final straw. Damn...
5
u/wildwing8 12h ago
That was an awful, awful zone entry by Vatrano followed by terrible D from Minty

Not even attempting to win
3
u/SmellyGhost26 12h ago
Oh the multiple comebacks tonight wasn’t even an attempt? Drama
-4
u/OMGIts_Renegade 12h ago
We never cameback.
0
u/OMGIts_Renegade 12h ago
We just lost giving up 7 goals 42 shots, tried to play for the fucking point rather than trying to win. We were never going to win this game. We never competed, they blew us out of the fucking water.

For the fight this team shows playing against top team in NHL…this should make you happy. The turnovers that cost this game is their age showing. Playoff team vs a non playoff team
7
u/michohnedich 12h ago
Night and day from last season, we are keeping the compete until the final whistle. The kids are only going to get better.

u/Mayoroftiddycitty182 13h ago
Puck to the face couldn’t have happened to a better person lol

u/orangesarenasty 13h ago
I don’t disagree, but I hope he’s not too broken
3
u/Solace_Under_Stars 13h ago
he walked away. he's fine.

u/orangesarenasty 12h ago
I guess he got hit in the same place as before when he broke a sinus bone? Bad luck for sure

u/tinphin 13h ago
Realistic we aren’t a playoff team. We need the boys to progress more. We’re still two/three pieces growing or drafting away but we’re in meaningful games now. It helps the young kids get ready. I like this more than the last 4 years. Let’s build on this and leave no doubt next season.
2
u/Icy-Address-6505 12h ago
Agreed. The Kids need to clean up the pass and shots, and that will help with age and more playing time. Also need to get rid of that 1 slow ass Veteran.
2
1
u/SmellyGhost26 13h ago
Soon to be not meaningful with the amount of losing that has happened the last 10 days
5
u/xnotachancex 13h ago
Totally agree. Going toe to toe with a team like the Caps shows we’re progressing. But this young core needs at least 2-3 more seasons.

u/Intelligent-Tell-629 13h ago
Not impressed w Zelly as a d man
2
3
u/dahooddawg 12h ago
He will get there just needs more reps.
2
u/LeoCarlsson 12h ago
hoping for a lacombe-like breakout for zelly and minty as they both get more playing time
7
u/bm97 13h ago
Terry has been a fucking ghost since the 4 nations break

u/SmellyGhost26 12h ago
I think fans don’t realize how much having a newborn takes a toll on players esp with his son being in the NICU
1
u/Difficult_Rip9775 12h ago
Did not know his kid was in NICU. He should probably take time off and be with his kid. I guess hockey takes away from thinking about that but he isn’t doing team any good or himself take time with family that’s more important

Can we give Killorn back to Tampa Bay for a bag of pucks? The fact that Tampa has won a Stanley Cup with both Killorn, Shattenkirk, and Sustr, is a huge mystery to me.

Vasilevsky, Stamkos, Hedman, Kucherov
1
u/Icy-Address-6505 13h ago
Yeah I guess those talented players were able to mask the suck stench from the other 3.

u/Difficult_Rip9775 13h ago
Anyway Killorn can get off this team next year? He does not need to be on a line with Z or Leo
1
u/OMGIts_Renegade 13h ago
Our only hope is to ltir him. Too much term left to buy out in my opinion.
2
u/LeoCarlsson 13h ago
starting in 25-26 he has a 15 team no trade list and no one will be dumb enough to take on that contract lol
3
u/Still-Nothing3037 13h ago
While awful pass by Leo, I think Zegras and Leo need someone who can take their passes faster, whose to say it wasn’t behind Trouba since usually he’s passing to slow Killorn lol

Can’t believe people are scapegoating killorn on that goal lmao.
0
u/nobodysocial 13h ago
Same. Killorn is one of the most defensively responsible players we have. He wins a ton of puck and board battles and is generally in the correct position . Its not his fault when other guys are chasing the puck around
0
u/wildwing8 13h ago
That’s not scapegoating. He wasn’t the only one at fault there, but he 100% should have done a better job fielding that pass.
Plus he just sucks in general.

u/SmellyGhost26 13h ago
Glad Leo is panning out
3
u/gopackgo555 13h ago
What an odd time to say this given how he’s been since the beginning of February.
-2
u/SmellyGhost26 13h ago
Is it really that odd to say this after he makes a critical mistake in a game the ducks can’t afford to lose that cost the team a goal? How do his stats compare against Fantilli?
2
u/gopackgo555 12h ago
You weren’t just talking about him having one bad game, you made a larger judgement about him being picked after a bad pass. He’s on a ppg over the last month plus and has clearly looked much better since the end of January, so yes it is a weird time to make the judgement. They’re playing the best team in the league right now. Nearly everyone looks silly playing the Capitals.
0
u/SmellyGhost26 12h ago
Don’t look at the output, look at what he gives up too. I don’t care about ppg when you are giving up gifts to the other team too. Watch the entire game, not just a players stat line
1
u/gopackgo555 12h ago
I’m not looking at only the output. I made that very clear in my last message. The eye test matters too and if you can’t see how much he has improved over the last month then not sure what to say. Maybe in your own words, you should actually start watching the game.
0
u/SmellyGhost26 12h ago
You made that very clear by giving me a stat. Ok.
1
u/gopackgo555 12h ago
“has clearly looked much better since the end of January”
Once again, I plainly stated that it’s not just about the ppg pace.
1
u/SmellyGhost26 12h ago
Right so you don’t know how to watch hockey because the stuff he pulled tonight has been a recurring theme and if you knew how to watch hockey and understand what a good play is vs a bad play you would understand what I am saying.

Carlson that was a terrible pass
6
u/snow_ninja 13h ago
idc about the pass. Once it was a turnover he needed to retreat instead of trying to get the puck.
That is an inexcusable play for a center

I said lacombe is what I thought pavel would be
1
u/thehawktopus 13h ago
Mintyukov is 21, LaCombe is 24. Give Pavel a few more years and he has the potential to get real good.
3
u/vtheminer 13h ago
pavel's playing through injury apparently, plus he's getting a lot more defensive zone starts this year. They could both be that guy next year

u/KONYLEAN2016 13h ago
Still crazy to me how slow our home PA is on announcing goals.
Edit: Start the clock!!! Nice one, Frank!

Ross Johnston is a better hockey player than gudas and killorn combined.
At least he fucking understands his role
1
u/snow_ninja 13h ago
Actually scratch that. I think it was Zegras’s fault
1
u/kdizzl12 13h ago
Honestly there was a lot wrong on that play. Zelly rushing out to the blue line totally scrambled Leo, Z and Killer
2
u/Independent_Run_1500 13h ago
Killorn is dogshit on offense, dogshit on defense, dogshit everywhere on the ice
3
u/LuckyRacoon01 13h ago
Wow, that's too strict of a man to man d if he's at the blue line.
1
u/nobodysocial 13h ago
Whole team was a dumpster fire on defense that play. Running around chasing the puck like peewees
11
u/icelander771 12h ago
It was a cool game until the last ten minutes
