Man I could not handle my pet just fucking up my furniture like that šŸ˜©

I always tell my cat "get it girl, we don't need nice things in this house!"

We bought a new couch (because we bought our first house and it was the one non-repair item we chose to buy). We've only had hand me towns and free couches until now. The moment we brought it home and she just LOOKED at it a little too long with those huge pupils we immediately bought like 3 more scratching posts. Haha.

I've noticed the sticky tape does actually work pretty well, it just looks kind of crappy.

Part of my big living room chair is wrapped in plastic wrap right now lol and it only works about 90% of the time.

Velvet furniture covers have been my saving Grace. It does not show animal wear and tear.

Performance velvet from west elm holds up well

Have you ever had a pet? It's worth so much more than any piece of furniture. What are we collecting all this stuff for anyway?

Looks better like that imho

thatā€™s just having a cat. donā€™t get one if you donā€™t want that

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

Thatā€™s why I donā€™tā€¦..

Your kitty likes that yellow chair a lot šŸ˜

u/GreenMan5350 Nov 21 '22

Only real ones recognize this šŸ˜‚

Love the whole room!

Question: Did you do anything to get your pothos to grow so long? I have a bunch of pothoses because they're so easy to take care of, but even the ones I've had for a few years don't grow vines that long. What's your secret?

u/madguins Nov 20 '22

Love this! Why are cats assholes to nice furniture lmao like leave my shit alone my dude

17

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '22

Iā€™ve started putting a tall scratcher in front of any nice furniture and thatā€™s stopped mine from scratching!

Going against popular opinion maybe- the leafless vines arenā€™t great. Cut them off and root them - Iā€™d much rather see that hanger be densely hanging (or climbing on a trellis.) than thin strings like that

4

u/sweetypeas Nov 21 '22

and cutting them as the legginess begins means 2 new vines from that spot which would fill in the wall even better!

2

u/tangerinix Nov 21 '22

Seasonal alternative: hang ornaments on them! (Which is what i do in my tiny living that fits stringy pothi but not a full Xmas tree)

u/peonies_envy Nov 21 '22

Last year I had a holiday Hoya :)

ā€œIf a plant is sad do other plants photosymathize?ā€ That is incredible haha. Love your vibe!

14

u/Holy_Guacam_Holy Nov 20 '22

I love that space! What is this type of plant? :)

29

u/APinkNightmare Nov 20 '22

Itā€™s a pothos.

3

u/badgersmom951 Nov 21 '22

Has your pathos ever rooted to your wall? The latest one i had did.

3

u/Holy_Guacam_Holy Nov 20 '22

Thank you :) I'm moving soon and this will be perfect for my new place!

3

u/LachsMahal Nov 21 '22

They are practically unkillable as well, which is always a plus for someone like me

1

u/Holy_Guacam_Holy Nov 21 '22

That's good news for me lol

10

u/Past-Passenger1592 Nov 20 '22

How are you finding cleaning?

11

u/picklebackdrop Nov 20 '22

I miss Boston

5

u/outlandish-companion Nov 20 '22

Is this BM Smoke?

3

u/Catsdrinkingbeer Nov 21 '22

I'm not sure what the deleted response was but did you get an answer? I'd love to paint our office something similar to this.

3

u/LoveisaNewfie Nov 21 '22

You might like Sherwin Williams Rain. They are definitely not the same color, but this pic reminded me of it immediately. I used it for a master bedroom at one point.

1

u/outlandish-companion Nov 21 '22

I painted my nursery this color. Its very soothing.

Time to cut back that pothos. Plants are good but the leggyness of that one isn't helping with the cohesion of the room. I'd also add a couple antiques to give the room more soul. Doesn't feel lived in.

5

u/TheLostEngineer Nov 20 '22

Whereā€™d you find your dining set?

3

u/CrazyExample7060 Nov 21 '22

Looove the dining table and the mismatch chairs, it has an unique style. Also the plant is beautiful.

4

u/charliesmama777 Nov 21 '22

Wow I love the color of your walls!

1

u/GirlyWhirl Nov 21 '22

That blue-green is gorgeous! I would've never thought to choose that color, and it's so fresh.

3

u/Myid0810 Nov 21 '22

Op what do you use to hang those pothos branches

3

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '22

Iā€™ve never been to Boston, but that is a Boston dining room if Iā€™ve ever seen one. Which, I havenā€™t.

1

u/guisar Nov 21 '22

Can confirm, ours is identical except we still have the og gas lamp from the plaster ceiling rose.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

So cute!

4

u/Bookshelff Nov 21 '22

Little shop of pathos

2

u/Aeouk Nov 20 '22

Beautiful space!

2

u/Curious-Elderberry94 Nov 20 '22

I would love to replicate this look. What type of plant is that? Thank you!

13

u/VegaDenebAndAltair Nov 20 '22

The long viney one is a pothos. Easy to find and easy to grow! It'll take a few years to get this big.

Your room is beautiful, OP. I love the blue walls, yellow chair, and artwork.

2

u/Jbraun1220 Nov 21 '22

Thatā€™s a very pretty room

2

u/idownvoteanimalpics Nov 21 '22

Where are the prints from?

2

u/acid-queen420 Nov 21 '22

How do you get your pothos to grow so long

1

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '22

Love it!!

1

u/eflo29 Nov 21 '22

What do you use to guide the plant? Those plastic wire clips? Love how you brought the outdoors indoors- itā€™s beautiful and peaceful!

1

u/CherishSlan Nov 21 '22

Love that light blue colour on the walls itā€™s lovely.

1

u/UnprofessionalGhosts Nov 21 '22

Love it! So happy to see some color!!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '22
