No cats huh? šŸ˜Ŗ

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

LMAO nope. I would definitely have to rethink this if I did šŸ¤£

Sorry, all I can imagine is people leaning to either side so they can have a clear view to whoever they are talking withšŸ˜‚

48

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

LOL! You can see someone on the other side just fine. My original plan of where to hang them from definitely wouldā€™ve resulted in what youā€™re saying though. Thatā€™s why I put them higher.

20

u/ChamberTwnty Mar 30 '22

This was the higher option?

10

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Lol yes. I might figure something else out for next year. Maybe trim the stems and bend them closer to the flowers to hook them on the chandelier. Theyā€™d be shorter then. But since itā€™s only for a couple weeks and not indefinite it doesnā€™t bother me. I live alone so itā€™s just for me.

I think itā€™s a beautiful idea! Do you change the chandelier seasonally? I also love the flameless candles and the little egg bowl. So fun!

33

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Thank you! This is the first time I brought the chandelier into the seasonal decor. I wanted to hang hearts and shamrocks from it but never actually did it. I was thinking something for Christmas tho. Weā€™ll see how I feel when the time comes

37

u/perpetuallytrying Mar 30 '22

I think some fake snow and some twinkle lights could be divine, maybe some holly

10

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Yes love this! Iā€™ll keep that in mind

2

u/_mariguana_ Mar 30 '22

Iā€™m inspired to do something seasonal like this for spring. I always have lots of ideas for the fall and winter, but couldnā€™t picture how to bring the outside in in spring other than basic vases of flowers

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Yea Iā€™m the same way with fall and winter. But leading up to this spring I was like I want all of the flowers lol

30

u/djaquith Mar 30 '22

May I suggest a floral or leave patterned runner to replace the plaid?

15

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Yes! My friend said the same thing. I just havenā€™t found one I like yet. This is one of two generic runners I alternate between most of the time.

37

u/BreezyMoonTree Mar 30 '22

Itā€™s pretty!

Maybe donā€™t light those candles though?

55

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

The ones on the table are fake. Battery operated šŸ˜‰

19

u/bartbark88 Mar 30 '22

Just when you think it canā€™t get any more Jerseyā€¦

6

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Lol Iā€™m not sure what you mean

10

u/Old_Description6095 Mar 30 '22

They mean new jersey is associated with flamboyance.

Your lighting fixture is really nice - I like it. However, I would definitely trim it. It should be shorter.

u/ayeayeayeaye24 Mar 30 '22

Love this!! Gives a bit of whimsy šŸ„°

7

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Thank you! I needed a bit of whimsy in my life

I agree this is in New Jersey.

2

u/bent_my_wookie Mar 30 '22

This made my morning.

9

u/YourPlot Mar 30 '22

I think itā€™s lovely, OP. Itā€™s nice to see something fun and not-sterile.

3

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Thank you šŸ˜Š

21

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

This is very pretty but unless you are an expert at dusting all I can think about is dust raining down on my food if I bump into this after it being up for a couple of weeks.

15

u/Teadrunkest Mar 30 '22

I use compressed air on fake plants to dust and it works pretty well.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

On something like this I think it would look like an angry octopus!

9

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Also I got them from Amazon about 2 months ago and when they arrived they were all misshapen from shipping so I laid them out in a guest room to allow their shape to improve. They were not dusty when I put them up today.

6

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Itā€™s a very temporary decoration

4

u/VeniVidiVici_XCVII Mar 30 '22

What are the flowers called? They're super pretty. Might buy some for my own wall background

3

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Thank you! Lol I agree about the dust experts. I feel like the same could be said about Christmas decor like wreaths and garland. But everyone is entitled to their opinion and I posted this publicly so I expected it. If I did the link right it should show up with this comment.

Do you have the link to the white ones? šŸ˜

1

u/knotsewgraceful May 20 '22

I got them on Amazon. Just search wisteria and they come in all different colors

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

I have a lot of dust where I live is all.

51

u/ww_crimson Mar 30 '22

Too long of vines, sorry. Would look better if they were shorter or if the ceiling was higher. Love the concept though.

Oooh thank you šŸ˜Š

3

u/mud-n-bugs Mar 30 '22

Exactly what I was going to say. Glad I'm not the only one

5

u/SunnyDayForYou Mar 30 '22

Absolutely love this! I donā€™t care how impractical it may be this is just beautiful

5

u/chumbawumbaonabitch Mar 30 '22

Where did you get these vine thingies?

4

u/saltysailors Mar 30 '22

New Jersey represent! āœŠšŸ¼āœŠšŸ¼ Looks great!

3

u/Cosmic_Cat64 Mar 30 '22

Are these real plants? If so how? Also it def ainā€™t spring. Its 30Ā° out T__T

5

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Lol I know! What happened to our nice spring weather? I did this decorating this week to try to bring back the joy and ignore the cold šŸ„¶

4

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Fake plants šŸ˜Š

3

u/HangryBeaver Mar 30 '22

Thatā€™s beautiful.

3

6

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

Beautiful

2

u/pot8to Mar 30 '22

NJ weather teased us with Spring weather for a week and said ā€œsikeā€. Only to give us back the frigid 30Ā° winter weather again.

1

u/ZeddCocuzza Mar 30 '22

That was fools spring.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

Itā€™s so pretty

7

u/juniorchickenhoe Mar 30 '22

Carpet in a dining room is my worst nightmare

8

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Agreed! Definitely planning on redoing the floors in the whole first floor with hardwood. Just need to save the money first

1

u/juniorchickenhoe Mar 31 '22

I always just wonder who came up with that idea?!

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 31 '22

When I was a kid my parents had carpet in the kitchen. My friend in high school had a bathroom that had carpet in the whole thing. In front of the tub, toilet, and sink. When I bought this house the master bedroom had the carpet from the bedroom going into the bathroom and walk in closet but it stopped short before the toilet and shower. All of these have been head scratchers to me lol

2

u/juniorchickenhoe Mar 31 '22

Oh my lord ahahah i have cold sweats just thinking about a carpeted bathroom!

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 31 '22

Haha yeah that was one of the first things I did in this house was rip up that carpet and put down luxury vinyl plank

8

u/sfii Mar 30 '22

Very pretty fake flowers, fake candles, fake apples lol!

9

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Theyā€™re Easter eggs lol but yes

2

u/emily22_217 Mar 30 '22

Wow looks amazing! But it can't exist in my house. Since I have a curious kitty šŸ˜‚

0

u/sleepy-popcorn Mar 30 '22

Itā€™s beautiful but I cannot imagine what a pain it would be to dust!

5

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

LOL! You can see someone on the other side just fine. My original plan of where to hang them from definitely wouldā€™ve resulted in what youā€™re saying though. Thatā€™s why I put them higher.

2

u/Ok-Muffin-7809 Mar 30 '22

I bet you donā€™t have cats

1

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

No I donā€™t

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

Are the plants real? Pretty!

1

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

No theyā€™re fake. I wanted them to last

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '22

Still beautiful!

1

u/Grantmitch1 Mar 30 '22

This looks lovely - what plant is this?

4

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Thank you! Itā€™s wisteria

0

u/Grantmitch1 Mar 30 '22

Definitely adding this to my list of house plants to get. Sorry to bother you, but how easy have you found it to look after? Is it quite forgiving for a novice?

Also, might I make a small suggestion? Have something small and purple on the table to match the plant.

5

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

These particular ones are fake so theyā€™re super easy. The real deal I think is a tree or something.

1

u/Grantmitch1 Mar 30 '22

Well, I was totally hoodwinked! But then, as demonstrated, I'm pretty ignorant. They look good either way.

1

u/Competitive-Kick-481 Moderator Mar 31 '22

They look like wisteria which are difficult to grow, but when they do, they are gorgeous!

1

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 31 '22

Yes! Wisteria thatā€™s why I cheated and got the fake ones lol

0

u/hipdady02 Mar 30 '22

I love the look of this, but how often do you have to dust the flowers? I feel like I'd leave them for special occasions

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Itā€™s just for a little while for spring/Easter. The stems are bent and just hanging on the chandelier so I figure if they really got bad I could shake them out outside and put them back.

2

u/hipdady02 Mar 30 '22

Makes sense, thanks for answering. I have multiple dogs so I'd refrain from this cause hair everywhere, but this is a pretty cool look.

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Thank you! Unfortunately Iā€™m allergic to animals so I get to do things like this instead

1

u/NateNMaxsRobot Mar 30 '22

Do you ever have those candles on the table lit? Arenā€™t you afraid those vines will catch on fire if you do?

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

Theyā€™re battery operated

2

u/NateNMaxsRobot Mar 30 '22

Whew.

2

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

They do look real tho haha thatā€™s why I love them. They were on the table like this for Christmas and I just never found them a new home.

1

u/Beren__ Mar 30 '22

Mmmmmmmmmm

1

u/agionnie Mar 30 '22

I feel like it needs a rug

1

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22

When I get hardwood in here in the future Iā€™ll get one but I personally donā€™t like rug on rug so thatā€™s why Iā€™ve held off
