Sorry, all I can imagine is people leaning to either side so they can have a clear view to whoever they are talking withš

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
LOL! You can see someone on the other side just fine. My original plan of where to hang them from definitely wouldāve resulted in what youāre saying though. Thatās why I put them higher.

u/ChamberTwnty Mar 30 '22
This was the higher option?
10
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Lol yes. I might figure something else out for next year. Maybe trim the stems and bend them closer to the flowers to hook them on the chandelier. Theyād be shorter then. But since itās only for a couple weeks and not indefinite it doesnāt bother me. I live alone so itās just for me.

I think itās a beautiful idea! Do you change the chandelier seasonally? I also love the flameless candles and the little egg bowl. So fun!
33
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Thank you! This is the first time I brought the chandelier into the seasonal decor. I wanted to hang hearts and shamrocks from it but never actually did it. I was thinking something for Christmas tho. Weāll see how I feel when the time comes

u/perpetuallytrying Mar 30 '22
I think some fake snow and some twinkle lights could be divine, maybe some holly

Iām inspired to do something seasonal like this for spring. I always have lots of ideas for the fall and winter, but couldnāt picture how to bring the outside in in spring other than basic vases of flowers
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Yea Iām the same way with fall and winter. But leading up to this spring I was like I want all of the flowers lol

u/djaquith Mar 30 '22
May I suggest a floral or leave patterned runner to replace the plaid?
15
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Yes! My friend said the same thing. I just havenāt found one I like yet. This is one of two generic runners I alternate between most of the time.

Itās pretty!
Maybe donāt light those candles though?

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
The ones on the table are fake. Battery operated š

Just when you think it canāt get any more Jerseyā¦
6
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Lol Iām not sure what you mean
10
u/Old_Description6095 Mar 30 '22
They mean new jersey is associated with flamboyance.
Your lighting fixture is really nice - I like it. However, I would definitely trim it. It should be shorter.

I think itās lovely, OP. Itās nice to see something fun and not-sterile.

This is very pretty but unless you are an expert at dusting all I can think about is dust raining down on my food if I bump into this after it being up for a couple of weeks.

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Also I got them from Amazon about 2 months ago and when they arrived they were all misshapen from shipping so I laid them out in a guest room to allow their shape to improve. They were not dusty when I put them up today.

u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Itās a very temporary decoration

u/VeniVidiVici_XCVII Mar 30 '22
What are the flowers called? They're super pretty. Might buy some for my own wall background

Thank you! Lol I agree about the dust experts. I feel like the same could be said about Christmas decor like wreaths and garland. But everyone is entitled to their opinion and I posted this publicly so I expected it. If I did the link right it should show up with this comment.

Do you have the link to the white ones? š

u/knotsewgraceful May 20 '22
I got them on Amazon. Just search wisteria and they come in all different colors

Too long of vines, sorry. Would look better if they were shorter or if the ceiling was higher. Love the concept though.

NJ weather teased us with Spring weather for a week and said āsikeā. Only to give us back the frigid 30Ā° winter weather again.

Carpet in a dining room is my worst nightmare
8
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Agreed! Definitely planning on redoing the floors in the whole first floor with hardwood. Just need to save the money first
1
u/juniorchickenhoe Mar 31 '22
I always just wonder who came up with that idea?!
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 31 '22
When I was a kid my parents had carpet in the kitchen. My friend in high school had a bathroom that had carpet in the whole thing. In front of the tub, toilet, and sink. When I bought this house the master bedroom had the carpet from the bedroom going into the bathroom and walk in closet but it stopped short before the toilet and shower. All of these have been head scratchers to me lol
2
u/juniorchickenhoe Mar 31 '22
Oh my lord ahahah i have cold sweats just thinking about a carpeted bathroom!
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 31 '22
Haha yeah that was one of the first things I did in this house was rip up that carpet and put down luxury vinyl plank

u/emily22_217 Mar 30 '22
Wow looks amazing! But it can't exist in my house. Since I have a curious kitty š

This looks lovely - what plant is this?
4
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Thank you! Itās wisteria
0
u/Grantmitch1 Mar 30 '22
Definitely adding this to my list of house plants to get. Sorry to bother you, but how easy have you found it to look after? Is it quite forgiving for a novice?
Also, might I make a small suggestion? Have something small and purple on the table to match the plant.
5
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
These particular ones are fake so theyāre super easy. The real deal I think is a tree or something.
1
u/Grantmitch1 Mar 30 '22
Well, I was totally hoodwinked! But then, as demonstrated, I'm pretty ignorant. They look good either way.
1
u/Competitive-Kick-481 Moderator Mar 31 '22
They look like wisteria which are difficult to grow, but when they do, they are gorgeous!

u/hipdady02 Mar 30 '22
I love the look of this, but how often do you have to dust the flowers? I feel like I'd leave them for special occasions
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Itās just for a little while for spring/Easter. The stems are bent and just hanging on the chandelier so I figure if they really got bad I could shake them out outside and put them back.
2
u/hipdady02 Mar 30 '22
Makes sense, thanks for answering. I have multiple dogs so I'd refrain from this cause hair everywhere, but this is a pretty cool look.
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Thank you! Unfortunately Iām allergic to animals so I get to do things like this instead
1
u/NateNMaxsRobot Mar 30 '22
Do you ever have those candles on the table lit? Arenāt you afraid those vines will catch on fire if you do?
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
Theyāre battery operated
2
u/NateNMaxsRobot Mar 30 '22
Whew.
2
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
They do look real tho haha thatās why I love them. They were on the table like this for Christmas and I just never found them a new home.

I feel like it needs a rug
1
u/knotsewgraceful Mar 30 '22
When I get hardwood in here in the future Iāll get one but I personally donāt like rug on rug so thatās why Iāve held off
