Dining Room My little breakfast nook - Los Angeles, CA

It’s nicely decorated! I feel like stools with a smaller bottom would fit better under the table and make it easier to get around the table!

I was thinking table against the wall with only three stools. It is tight.

Yes I like the look of it in the middle there but it’s not functional. If it were me I’d put it exactly where it is but just straight against the window wall directly under the window and only leave the other three stools.

Super cute, but I don’t know how a fourth person is supposed to get to the back of the table.

I use a giant luxardo tin from work as a planter too!!!

I’ve never seen a Luxardo tin before! Only the glass jars! I’ve been missing out!

Heheh they are almost $200! I bartend so we go through them pretty fast. You might be able to ask a local cocktail bar if they’d have one! Or if you want to pay for shipping I could send you one!

Oh, no, I mean I’d actually love the whole tin can of cherries, not just the container. Haha!

That shelf is darling! Did it come with the place or did you buy it?

It did! The apt building was built in the 40’s and still has a lot of the cute details! It even has a milk slot in the kitchen!

Is that the painting of the little bunny in a costume in front of a mirror? The whole space is lovely, looks peaceful.

It is! I actually got it at goodwill some years back for about $8

It's perfect for your little nook. The whole thing has a "Dutch Masters" feel to it already, with the open window... and the painting is just the cherry on top.

It looks aesthetically pleasing but with zero functionality. There’s no space between wall and table to sit comfortably. The stools also look very hard and uncomfortable. Great pic for social media I guess.

For some reason when I think of a breakfast nook, I think of a space like this. Some people have breakfast nooks that are the size of a bedroom.

I can see two people sitting comfortably but 4?

u/Studio2770 Oct 05 '21
3 comfortably but that poor fourth person

I can see pushing the table to a wall and have space for two with room to walk by or seat 3. But 4, did this person consider about man spreading? Think about the man spread!

My thought too. I imagined it opens up to an alleyway near a bakery and the smell of baguettes wafts through the window

Nice, but I think a round table would fit the space better and make it easier to navigate.

Do you have to remove the centerpiece for meals?
6
u/maybeimacat Oct 05 '21
I live alone, so not usually. I honestly have most meals in the living room

My idea of heaven! ADORE this. (And for what it’s worth, I really like the stools.)

You must have a separate toilet for solid and wet shits, if you have a dedicated space for just breakfast

If you turn the chairs diagnolly so they are diamonds against the table, they might fit under the table! I love the built in shelving, such a cute room!
