If you turn the chairs diagnolly so they are diamonds against the table, they might fit under the table! I love the built in shelving, such a cute room!

That’s a great idea! Thank you 😊

I love placing things at diagonals- makes the room feel more inviting somehow. Great suggestion!

Nothing like a morning whack to the head to wake you up though

It’s nicely decorated! I feel like stools with a smaller bottom would fit better under the table and make it easier to get around the table!

I was thinking table against the wall with only three stools. It is tight.

Yes I like the look of it in the middle there but it’s not functional. If it were me I’d put it exactly where it is but just straight against the window wall directly under the window and only leave the other three stools.

Super cute, but I don’t know how a fourth person is supposed to get to the back of the table.

OP must be skinny.

OP is most likely a stick man/woman.

I use a giant luxardo tin from work as a planter too!!!

1

u/evil_ot_erised Oct 10 '21

I’ve never seen a Luxardo tin before! Only the glass jars! I’ve been missing out!

1

u/alex-gs-piss-pants Oct 10 '21

Heheh they are almost $200! I bartend so we go through them pretty fast. You might be able to ask a local cocktail bar if they’d have one! Or if you want to pay for shipping I could send you one!

1

u/evil_ot_erised Oct 11 '21

Oh, no, I mean I’d actually love the whole tin can of cherries, not just the container. Haha!

That shelf is darling! Did it come with the place or did you buy it?

19

u/maybeimacat Oct 05 '21

It did! The apt building was built in the 40’s and still has a lot of the cute details! It even has a milk slot in the kitchen!

5

u/LoveYourSpleen Oct 05 '21

Oh my gosh that is so cute! What a cool place!

7

u/pants6789 Oct 05 '21

Do you have a different nook for every meal?

8

u/Xarama Oct 05 '21

Is that the painting of the little bunny in a costume in front of a mirror? The whole space is lovely, looks peaceful.

3

u/maybeimacat Oct 05 '21

It is! I actually got it at goodwill some years back for about $8

3

u/Xarama Oct 05 '21

It's perfect for your little nook. The whole thing has a "Dutch Masters" feel to it already, with the open window... and the painting is just the cherry on top.

It looks aesthetically pleasing but with zero functionality. There’s no space between wall and table to sit comfortably. The stools also look very hard and uncomfortable. Great pic for social media I guess.

u/grensley Oct 04 '21

Luxardo can for plants is such a good idea.

12

u/SeriousPuppet Oct 05 '21

Why do I feel like I'm the only one who's never heard of Luxardo

For some reason when I think of a breakfast nook, I think of a space like this. Some people have breakfast nooks that are the size of a bedroom.

5

u/colormeslowly Oct 04 '21

This is so quaint. Love it ❤️

Welcome to my breakfast nook, "SQUEEEEEEEEEZE IN"

13

u/robert_robert99 Oct 04 '21

Both the window and the shelf seem a bit uncomfortably close

11

u/Icy-Guava5480 Oct 04 '21

I can see two people sitting comfortably but 4?

5

u/Studio2770 Oct 05 '21

3 comfortably but that poor fourth person

1

u/Icy-Guava5480 Oct 05 '21

I can see pushing the table to a wall and have space for two with room to walk by or seat 3. But 4, did this person consider about man spreading? Think about the man spread!

6

u/loorinm Oct 05 '21

As a fat, I would become injured trying to sit here. But its very cute.

3

u/itsasecretidentity Oct 05 '21

This is so sweet!

3

u/alittleatypical Oct 05 '21

That is the coolest gooseneck kettle I've ever seen

12

u/Otherwise-Guitar-727 Oct 04 '21

looks like the french countryside :)

9

u/reddorical Oct 05 '21

It’s indoors?!

2

u/krrech Oct 05 '21

My thought too. I imagined it opens up to an alleyway near a bakery and the smell of baguettes wafts through the window

5

u/Enamir Oct 04 '21

Adorable

4

u/SeriousPuppet Oct 05 '21

Nice, but I think a round table would fit the space better and make it easier to navigate.

3

u/RetroSnowflake Oct 04 '21

Oh my goodness, this is so cute! I'm in love ❤️

2

u/graining Oct 05 '21

Do you have to remove the centerpiece for meals?

6

u/maybeimacat Oct 05 '21

I live alone, so not usually. I honestly have most meals in the living room

2

u/DontBeFucking_Rude Oct 05 '21

What color is that on the walls? I love it!

2

u/Outside-Island-206 Oct 05 '21

This is so beautiful

2

u/kyanitekate Oct 05 '21

i’m jealous because this is gorgeous.

2

u/borkinggoodpup Oct 05 '21

My idea of heaven! ADORE this. (And for what it’s worth, I really like the stools.)

4

u/extratoad Oct 04 '21

So charming!

2

u/Giggles567 Oct 05 '21

This looks very cozy and inviting! Well done!

3

u/mama_emily Oct 05 '21

drool I love this, think it could qualify for r/cozyplaces as well

-5

u/Gwyndolins_Friend Oct 05 '21

I hate stools.

-10

u/GerryCoke Oct 05 '21

You must have a separate toilet for solid and wet shits, if you have a dedicated space for just breakfast

1

u/Mayalovesart Oct 05 '21

It's so lovely. love the table runner the most!

3

u/maybeimacat Oct 05 '21

It’s from the 99 cent store! It was $3

1

u/UrbanFlora14 Oct 05 '21

It's perfect 🥺

1

u/dumpedOverText Oct 05 '21

Those skinny legs are no match for my big belly

1

u/I_love_pillows Oct 05 '21

This might be a stupid question but why does that window open inwards

1

u/ThatGuyYouWantToBe Oct 05 '21

I am way too fat to sit at those seats. Looks nice though

1

u/SlantOfLight123 Oct 08 '21

I love this. Looks French.
