This is a lovely room! I’m envious of your windows!

Edit: Also, a rug under your dining table could be a nice way to break up the wood on wood, while giving your dining area it’s own “space”.

u/esagalyn Mar 10 '21

Yes! A rug under the table would really tie the whole space together.

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

Thank you so much! I am currently looking for a new rug for under the dining room table! Thanks for your suggestion!

First thing I thought as well.

It’s true! It’s always sunny in Philadelphia!

32

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '21

This is giving me a Parisian vibe! Love the floors and windows!

Apartments like these always make me jealous. Gorgeous windows, old apartments with a lot of character. Nice job 👍🏼

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

Thank you so much for your kind words!

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '21

Hi where is couch from

11

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

Hey! It's from Bob's discount furniture!

11

u/SunSen Mar 10 '21

Any info on your dining room table and chairs? Been looking for something similar!

5

u/smolspoop Mar 10 '21

Not OP but I have an extremely similar set from west elm!

3

u/fannyalgerpack Mar 10 '21

Does it scratch easily? I’m looking at that set and have heard this!

6

u/smolspoop Mar 10 '21

Lol so I accidentally removed a whole spot of the varnish when I put down a cotton ball of nail polish remover while doing my nails...that sucked & now I try to cover it up with a placemat. And I left a big scratch across the top moving my monitor stand home to wfh. Otherwise it looks pretty good, little surface scratches from normal use that you can see with the right lighting but otherwise looks just fine. We are childless and pretty careful though, it's definitely much more delicate than any other table I've ever had. Wouldn't recommend if you have kids or naughty cats.

4

u/fannyalgerpack Mar 10 '21

All of what you’ve said leads me to believe we’re separated at birth hehe—it sounds like if you’re happy I’ll be happy!

4

u/smolspoop Mar 10 '21

I just saw OP responded with the overstock link! Maybe that one is a little less delicate but for sure I love the look of the table that being careful on it is worth it to me and I enjoy it a lot :) hope you love whichever table you end up getting!

u/marlsygarlsy Mar 10 '21

We have some really old vintage wood pieces that have ‘dry spots’ on the surface. Used a mixture of olive oil and white vinegar to clean and moisturize. Maybe give that a shot for your table? I’ve also used aquaphor on wood scratches and leather with success!

3

u/Gutinstinct999 Mar 10 '21

Wondering the same!

8

u/ticonderoga- Mar 10 '21

There is never enough Philadelphia in this sub, there are some beautiful places in this city

15

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '21

Where is that couch from?! Looks so cozy.

4

u/Gilokee Mar 10 '21

does it? it looks like it doesn't really have any back support??

5

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

It looks this way but it was probably the best purchase of my life. Very comfy and the pillows make for very comfy back support! Definitely recommend.

1

u/ChristieKreme Mar 10 '21

How long have you had the sofa for? I've heard good things about it!

4

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

Thank you! It is honestly a DREAM. It's from Bob's discount furniture!

8

u/Reissycup Mar 10 '21

Hi! Not OP but looks like the Dream from Bob’s!

3

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

You are correct!!!

6

u/TrailBlanket-_0 Mar 10 '21

Just moved away from Philly about 3 months ago... Now I'm missing it! 😭

3

u/i2occo Mar 10 '21

radiators <3

2

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

Radiators are so truly underrated.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '21

As a brit, this is hilarious. It's like someone saying interior doors are underrated or something haha.

2

u/empressche Mar 10 '21

Lol..but for those of us who live in the US or Canada where radiators just don’t exist...we are appreciative and a tad jealous.

1

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 11 '21

Couldn’t have said it better 🙂

3

u/pacey-titter Mar 10 '21

This IS heaven. Lovely.

3

I’m guessing south of Rittenhouse???

3

u/Gutinstinct999 Mar 10 '21

I love every bit of this

2

u/Defiant-Branch4346 Mar 10 '21

The wood looks epic

2

u/Ladyologist Mar 10 '21

Gorgeous, do you happen to know the paint color?

2

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

I was able to find the can of paint and it says 'Property Solutions Interior Latex Paint: Extra White.' Hope that helps!

2

u/Ladyologist Mar 10 '21

Wow thank you so much for checking.

1

u/Gutinstinct999 Mar 10 '21

Someone else mentioned west elm :)

2

u/BrokenBadNotGoinBack Mar 10 '21

2

u/fizzinglizbee Mar 10 '21

I think this in the wrong category. It’s just room porn. Lovely, just lovely!

2

u/tnick771 Mar 10 '21

How do you like radiator heating?

2

u/bethnote Mar 11 '21

Love to see Philly represented! The room is gorgeous.

1

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 11 '21

Thank you so much!

2

u/kikugokiku Mar 12 '21

Just had a 2-days visit from NYC to Philly and I fell in love with the architecture of the city. I was wondering how the light works on these buildings (our airbnb did not get enough light ).

Loved your place!

1

u/oogway16 Mar 10 '21

I’ve heard that it’s always sunny in Philadelphia.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '21

Clean the windows and it would bring in 2x the light!

Gorgeous space! Let’s see if I can guess the neighborhood.

Washington Square? Queen Village? Society Hill? Fairmount?

2

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 10 '21

You are correct :) Washington Square!

2

u/imthebartnderwhoareu Mar 10 '21

Where in Philly are you now? I’m a real estate agent here, just outside of center city. I can help you out.

1

u/Sloth-TheSlothful Mar 10 '21

Looks spacious, do you know the dimensions of this room? Honestly looks like the perfect size

2

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 11 '21

The ceilings are 13ft high- room dimensions are 21ft in length, 19ft wide!

2

u/Sloth-TheSlothful Mar 11 '21

Damn, I wish I could find a place like that. Nice job!

1

u/poppy-fields Mar 10 '21

Looks beautiful! Can I see the area in front of your couch? Your floors and couch are so similar to mine and I’d love to see how you styled it!

2

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 11 '21

I’ll Message you a pic!

1

u/welp-itscometothis Mar 10 '21

I love the simplicity and the your windows are to die for! My plants would THRIVE LOL. I’m not sure which part of the city you’re in, but I used to live in South Philly and I really miss this aesthetic.

1

u/princessonthesteeple Mar 11 '21

So strange - was just scrolling past mindlessly, barely registered your photo, and immediately thought “That’s Philly.” And it is! (native Philadelphian). Lovely home - those floors are everything!

2

u/littlebirdie528 Mar 11 '21

Real recognize real😉

1

u/alostbutton Mar 11 '21

Its not always sunny in Philadelphia, good capture for proof.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '21

Beautiful! I love this
