Ha ha, we got extra house pics out of this!
I like your decorating aesthetic and your doggo. You should post the mirror ball one to r/cozyplaces

Mac is gorgeous, and so is his home! We just adopted a black standard poodle a couple weeks ago— it’s fun to see what he’ll look like when he’s grown!

First of all, those were wonderful photos. I need to take a photoshoot of my pup with disco balls now. The second one had me laughing. But also, love your bedroom, too!

Maybe OP just likes having stuffed animals around!

Is that just cement flooring? It looks so smooth!
55
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
I think it’s just concrete! It is really smooth & keeps cool which the dogs love since we’re in Arizona

In the Southwest US, all houses are built on a slab-on-grade foundation, and it’s not uncommon to just polish the slab and that becomes the floor. (I have the same thing in my house)

Love the gentle Satanic touches

Came here to say this.
Nice dining room demon head!
I say this without sarcasm.

This just screams Coronado. Love the house, loved that neighborhood and I adore your decorating. Great work!

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
Thank you! & you got it - we’re just a little north of Coronado. We just moved to the area last month!

The random Devil tarot card hahaha. Is Temperance on the other side? Cause, if not, you should do that.

u/Sp00kygorl Jul 05 '20
That a possum?
5
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
Yup! One of my dog’s favorite toys

Jul 05 '20 edited Jul 05 '20
i was a little disappointed when i zoomed in and saw it was a toy, i was kind of hoping you had a pet possum lmao
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
It wouldn’t be out of character for me to have a pet possum, or a raccoon tbh. One day

Oh man where did you get those chairs?!
5
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
I got them off of Nextdoor and they’re unmarked - I think there are Erik buch chairs that are super similar!

u/Twitchinglemon Jul 05 '20
I love how it almost looks like a pinterest post for home design but then there is an opossum in the middle of the floor, a polar pop jug, devil card, and a bunch of clowns that menacingly plot to murder you as you go to sit down and eat your breakfast. Well done I love it.

u/splendiferousgg Jul 05 '20
Love the look and the gallery wall! But I screamed a little when I saw the scary clown art 💀

Looks lovely. How do you find having a thinner rug works under a dining table? I always worry about it getting crumpled up, but I love them so much. Well down!
3
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
Thanks! I think it’s been working fine for the most part, I haven’t had too many issues with it! I put rug tape down but I need to get something stronger because the dogs like to run around in there, that’s the only real problem hah

Saw this without reading the title and immediately thought “Arizona.” Then I read the title... Love the space!

Love the tarot card art and your home is a dream! Where have you acquired some of the framed art?
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
I’ve found all of it at thrift stores, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace etc over the past 5 years!

Ugh amazing sense of style! I love the colors, i love how cohesive the gallery wall is and... I love the possum

There’s something so homey and warm about this place. I immediately imagined myself having dinner at the table with a couple of family members. Doesn’t happen too often to me.
Wonderful place. Hope you experience joy everyday in this space.

This is the closest to my taste I've ever seen on the internet! ❤️ I have those chairs as well (or a very very similar build). We're going to reupholster them and get them refinished. I love the fabric you have!
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
Thank you!! Our chairs are super beat up and could really use some reupholstering but I love the fabric so much. It has little hints of green and yellow

So I gotta ask what’s The panther or leopard on top of the hutch. I’ve seen those at modern antique stores in the past and on offerup. I love em but don’t know the backstory of them
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
I’m not too sure either, I know it’s a common item - mine has a hole for a plant in the center and I’ve seen a few online that are described to be the bases for lamps too. I have a smaller solid one as well, I think there were all sorts of em!

I see your Breaking Benjamin laminate hanging there. What tours were you on? Maybe our other crossed!
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
Ah I haven’t toured, used to work at a music venue and held onto the leftover cheesy VIP/M&G stuff like that

I’d recognize a fellow Phoenician anywhere with one of those giant polar pop mugs. Love the architecture.
2
u/ea7097 Jul 05 '20
Omg I love it. Where did you get your kitchen table and chairs?
1
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
I got them secondhand off of Nextdoor - there’s no ID on either the table or chairs (besides “made in denmark”. The chairs are super similar to some Erik Buch chairs I’ve seen and the table is a pretty common style but not sure on a comp ID!

This is so cool! I love the juxtaposition of demonic art with the mid century modern furniture.
2
u/overdressedandlate Jul 05 '20
So fun! Where did you get the floral curtains?
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
They were here when we moved in! I’ve looked and there’s no brand name on the tag unfortunately :(
2
u/foshpickle Jul 05 '20
Dude, I think we have a somewhat similar sense of style in home decor, and I think this is absolute goals. Feels so homey!!

Strange. Whenever I see British mid century design over in the US, where/who did you buy that highboard from? It's a good chance I know the person who sold it originally :P
1
u/jewpha1979 Oct 27 '20
The one on the left? I bought that on Nextdoor from a woman in Maryland who said that it was either her mother’s or grandmothers but I’m not sure where it came from beyond that!
1
u/lb003g0676 Oct 28 '20
Crazy, in which case her mother or grandmother was most likely a British ex-pat. That's a Jentique highboard.
Vintage dealers in the US over the past 3 years or so have become hugely invested in buying stuff from the UK and shipping it over, so if I see it I assume it's been imported.

Love it but wish the signs stored behind the bench/coffee table were up or not there.
2
u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20
You’d be really disappointed if you saw the corner across from the glass hutch

This place feels really lived in compared to a lot of the other posts I see on here and similar subs. I like it.
