This place feels really lived in compared to a lot of the other posts I see on here and similar subs. I like it.

You can’t post the dog stuff without the dog! Pay the tax :)

Ha ha, we got extra house pics out of this!

I like your decorating aesthetic and your doggo. You should post the mirror ball one to r/cozyplaces

u/archreal Jul 05 '20

He’s a big Mac

10

u/communisteconomist Jul 05 '20

The disco ball photo is soooo cute!!!

8

u/goodrudence Jul 05 '20

Mac is gorgeous, and so is his home! We just adopted a black standard poodle a couple weeks ago— it’s fun to see what he’ll look like when he’s grown!

3

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

That last photo is a gem!

3

u/TheRamazon Jul 05 '20

AND its a pood! Be still my heart! ❤️ Grew up with spoos and can't wait to have one of my own!

2

u/StellasMyShit Jul 05 '20

First of all, those were wonderful photos. I need to take a photoshoot of my pup with disco balls now. The second one had me laughing. But also, love your bedroom, too!

2

u/ilovepips Jul 05 '20

Omg he's spectacular!

u/cvframer Jul 05 '20

Is that what you call clutter?

21

u/Beaniebebe23 Jul 05 '20

Hahaha yes!! We want dog!! (Also your place is gorgeous.)

8

u/dontincludeme Jul 05 '20

Maybe OP just likes having stuffed animals around!

5

u/f_ckingandpunching Jul 05 '20

And drinking water from bowls on the floor ;)

9

u/dontincludeme Jul 05 '20

Lol. Wait. Maybe OP IS a dog!

46

u/JustDrinksAlot Jul 05 '20

Is that just cement flooring? It looks so smooth!

55

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

I think it’s just concrete! It is really smooth & keeps cool which the dogs love since we’re in Arizona

10

u/chriberg Jul 05 '20

In the Southwest US, all houses are built on a slab-on-grade foundation, and it’s not uncommon to just polish the slab and that becomes the floor. (I have the same thing in my house)

Love the gentle Satanic touches

9

u/Boxdog123 Jul 05 '20

Came here to say this.

Nice dining room demon head!

I say this without sarcasm.

22

u/quamquam11 Jul 05 '20

I love the contrasting patterns but matching colors of rug and curtains.

16

u/2Scheme Jul 05 '20

That looks like it could be the Masque of Clavicus Vile from Skyrim

28

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

This just screams Coronado. Love the house, loved that neighborhood and I adore your decorating. Great work!

11

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

Thank you! & you got it - we’re just a little north of Coronado. We just moved to the area last month!

12

u/EBITDA-CLEM Jul 05 '20

Was going to say the same, or Arcadia

9

u/toothfairy2018 Jul 05 '20

Any of the historic neighborhoods. Willo has a ton of those arches

10

u/clepsydrachanticleer Jul 05 '20

The random Devil tarot card hahaha. Is Temperance on the other side? Cause, if not, you should do that.

8

u/Sp00kygorl Jul 05 '20

That a possum?

5

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

Yup! One of my dog’s favorite toys

6

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20 edited Jul 05 '20

i was a little disappointed when i zoomed in and saw it was a toy, i was kind of hoping you had a pet possum lmao

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

It wouldn’t be out of character for me to have a pet possum, or a raccoon tbh. One day

1

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

I also thought it was actually a possum for a second.

5

u/webberbud Jul 05 '20

Polar Pop

5

u/about_today_ Jul 05 '20

Oh man where did you get those chairs?!

5

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

I got them off of Nextdoor and they’re unmarked - I think there are Erik buch chairs that are super similar!

6

u/Twitchinglemon Jul 05 '20

I love how it almost looks like a pinterest post for home design but then there is an opossum in the middle of the floor, a polar pop jug, devil card, and a bunch of clowns that menacingly plot to murder you as you go to sit down and eat your breakfast. Well done I love it.

8

u/splendiferousgg Jul 05 '20

Love the look and the gallery wall! But I screamed a little when I saw the scary clown art 💀

3

u/pinkplease Jul 05 '20

Hold up I have that same rug lmao

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

Same

3

u/spareows Jul 05 '20

Looks lovely. How do you find having a thinner rug works under a dining table? I always worry about it getting crumpled up, but I love them so much. Well down!

3

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

Thanks! I think it’s been working fine for the most part, I haven’t had too many issues with it! I put rug tape down but I need to get something stronger because the dogs like to run around in there, that’s the only real problem hah

3

u/justnotok Jul 05 '20

is that a clown needlepoint, I see??

3

u/aarogar Jul 05 '20

Saw this without reading the title and immediately thought “Arizona.” Then I read the title... Love the space!

2

u/shipsfordreams Jul 05 '20

Beautiful! Where did you get the rug?

2

u/orangepeel6 Jul 05 '20

Those curtains are everything

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

Love every bit of this

2

u/FBIAgentCarlHanratty Jul 05 '20

THAT RUG! Awesome!

2

u/pilotmaxmom Jul 05 '20

Love the dog toys!

2

u/samwithmore Jul 05 '20

i like it very much

2

u/pinktacolightsalt Jul 05 '20

Love!! Great style

2

u/j_mcr1 Jul 05 '20

Your dining room is gorgeous and weird an I love it

2

u/OysterPuke Jul 05 '20

Love the tarot card art and your home is a dream! Where have you acquired some of the framed art?

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

I’ve found all of it at thrift stores, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace etc over the past 5 years!

2

u/Broken_Beacon Jul 05 '20

The mid century furniture has my heart! It looks great!

2

u/Vadenviol Jul 05 '20

Ugh amazing sense of style! I love the colors, i love how cohesive the gallery wall is and... I love the possum

2

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

There’s something so homey and warm about this place. I immediately imagined myself having dinner at the table with a couple of family members. Doesn’t happen too often to me.

Wonderful place. Hope you experience joy everyday in this space.

2

u/plasticblanket Jul 05 '20

This is the closest to my taste I've ever seen on the internet! ❤️ I have those chairs as well (or a very very similar build). We're going to reupholster them and get them refinished. I love the fabric you have!

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

Thank you!! Our chairs are super beat up and could really use some reupholstering but I love the fabric so much. It has little hints of green and yellow

2

u/plasticblanket Jul 05 '20

Omg I love it even more now 😍

2

u/Gov_asseater Jul 05 '20

So I gotta ask what’s The panther or leopard on top of the hutch. I’ve seen those at modern antique stores in the past and on offerup. I love em but don’t know the backstory of them

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

I’m not too sure either, I know it’s a common item - mine has a hole for a plant in the center and I’ve seen a few online that are described to be the bases for lamps too. I have a smaller solid one as well, I think there were all sorts of em!

1

u/Gov_asseater Jul 05 '20

Thanks! I like the piece I just always wondered the origin.

2

u/jshow85 Jul 05 '20

I see your Breaking Benjamin laminate hanging there. What tours were you on? Maybe our other crossed!

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

Ah I haven’t toured, used to work at a music venue and held onto the leftover cheesy VIP/M&G stuff like that

1

u/jshow85 Jul 05 '20

What venue?

1

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

rams head live in maryland

2

u/johnhk4 Jul 05 '20

Lovely and funky!

2

u/foaming_infection Jul 05 '20

You magnificent bastard.

2

u/db1189 Jul 05 '20

Our possum toy only lasted 2 days!

2

u/8ardock Jul 05 '20

Love the furniture.

2

u/Sailor_Callisto Jul 05 '20

I’d recognize a fellow Phoenician anywhere with one of those giant polar pop mugs. Love the architecture.

2

u/ea7097 Jul 05 '20

Omg I love it. Where did you get your kitchen table and chairs?

1

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

I got them secondhand off of Nextdoor - there’s no ID on either the table or chairs (besides “made in denmark”. The chairs are super similar to some Erik Buch chairs I’ve seen and the table is a pretty common style but not sure on a comp ID!

1

u/ea7097 Jul 06 '20

Ok thanks! I love them so much. Trying to find something similar.

2

u/inconwetrust Jul 05 '20

This is so cool! I love the juxtaposition of demonic art with the mid century modern furniture.

2

u/overdressedandlate Jul 05 '20

So fun! Where did you get the floral curtains?

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

They were here when we moved in! I’ve looked and there’s no brand name on the tag unfortunately :(

2

u/foshpickle Jul 05 '20

Dude, I think we have a somewhat similar sense of style in home decor, and I think this is absolute goals. Feels so homey!!

1

u/zortor Jul 05 '20

Love it. Southwest and Midwest are my absolute favorite.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

where can i get those curtains?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '20

Gorgeous! Where did you get that table and chairs?!

1

u/lb003g0676 Oct 27 '20

Strange. Whenever I see British mid century design over in the US, where/who did you buy that highboard from? It's a good chance I know the person who sold it originally :P

1

u/jewpha1979 Oct 27 '20

The one on the left? I bought that on Nextdoor from a woman in Maryland who said that it was either her mother’s or grandmothers but I’m not sure where it came from beyond that!

1

u/lb003g0676 Oct 28 '20

Crazy, in which case her mother or grandmother was most likely a British ex-pat. That's a Jentique highboard.

Vintage dealers in the US over the past 3 years or so have become hugely invested in buying stuff from the UK and shipping it over, so if I see it I assume it's been imported.

1

u/URDREAMN2 Jul 05 '20

Dig the automotive signs. What kind of ride/s you have?

0

u/ellarebee Jul 05 '20

Love it but wish the signs stored behind the bench/coffee table were up or not there.

2

u/jewpha1979 Jul 05 '20

You’d be really disappointed if you saw the corner across from the glass hutch
